As Daniel whispered "hey" in Alex's ear, Alex's eyes widened, and he jumped, his phone slipping from his fingers. "What the...!" Alex exclaimed, his heart racing.
Daniel chuckled, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "Sorry, didn't mean to scare you."
Alex glared at Daniel, his face flushed. "You did that on purpose."
Daniel shrugged, his grin still plastered on his face. "Maybe."
Alex shook his head, picking up his phone. "You're crazy."
Daniel's eyes locked onto Alex's, his gaze intense. "You have no idea."
The air was thick with tension as they stared at each other, the only sound the soft hum of the phone. Alex's heart was still racing, his senses on high alert.
Suddenly, Daniel's face broke into a wide smile. "Hey, you should take a shower. You're getting all sweaty playing games."
