Frudi walked up to her dad's table, her eyes locked onto his, and Cisco was taken aback by the intensity of her gaze. Tristan, too, was watching her, a look of confusion on his face.
Frudi's mouth opened, and she asked, "Are you guys becoming best friends again?"
The question hung in the air, and Cisco let out a sigh, relief washing over him. "Oh, this is not..." he started to say, but his voice trailed off.
Tristan raised an eyebrow, still looking at Frudi. "Best friends?" he repeated, a hint of amusement in his voice.
Frudi's eyes never left her dad's face. "You know, like before," she said, her voice innocent.
Cisco's eyes darted to Tristan, and he could see the tension between them dissipating. For a moment, they had both forgotten about their complicated past and the reason for Tristan's visit.
