Frudi had barely stepped out of the study when Cisco called her back.
"Frudi, wait!"
She turned around, re-entering the study.
"About the press conference you missed today," Cisco said, "we'll reschedule it for next week."
Frudi nodded, feeling a mix of relief and guilt.
"And for the rest of the week, take some time off. You seem like you have a lot on your mind," Cisco added.
Frudi shook her head. "I'm fine, Dad. Really."
Cisco's eyes narrowed. "Frudi, you're not fine. But I'll let it slide. For now."
He paused, a hint of a smile on his face.
"Want to practice shooting? Even a pro like you needs to stay sharp."
Frudi raised an eyebrow. "You know I'm always up for that. You should let this trophy owner beat you."
Cisco nodded. "Good. Meet me at the range in an hour."
Frudi nodded and left the study, her mind still reeling from the conversation.
