Leon walked down the path, not finding anything he was getting rather bored as he continued on. Eventually it unfortunately started to rain so Leon started to head back until he Heard a terrifying screech That completely pierced his ears.
"Help"
The voice stated It was a familiar one. It was Ethan's voice but scratchy and not too far away.
Leon made his way closer pushing through the grass and trees that blocked his pathway. As Leon continued forward he noticed a familiar smell of blood but he continued pushing forward knowing he had to find a way to help Ethan if he was in danger.
Once again Leon heard the voice it nearly whispered in his ear with a scratching tone continuing to pierce something was off but Leon had to continue.
Leon pushed past the brush swiping it from his face as a saw a horrifying sight lying before him was Ethan with his vocal cords ripped out and above a giant black crow with a vicious stare as it dropped parts of the man it had already killed, It gave a glare and a twisted grin towards Leon as it swooped downward landing making a mocking sound.
"No… Ethan"
Leon said Knowing it was already too late for the man.
However it was not too late for Leon, but it would be if he didn't react fast enough the bird was vicious and it was ready to strike its beak opened up as it let out a large sharp piercing scream that pierced Leon's ears causing him to bleed.
Leon grabbed his blade and prepared himself for a fight, however he studied the environment and studied the creature quickly but he knew that deep down he could not defeat this creature The only thing he could do was retreat but he did not want to leave Ethan behind he couldn't but he had to.
The bird gave a glare towards Leon menacingly as the creature twisted its claws forward and slammed into the ground attempting to attack the knight luckily for Leon he was able to dodge out the way rolling backwards and doing a backflip catch himself immediately as the bird continued to claw at him however the night was not a lightweight and also attacked the creature slicing towards the creature cutting off one of its smaller claws.
"You damn bird You're lucky I can't take you on it if I could you be toast" Leon said.
"Me when I'll kill me will hurt You will bleed"
The bird responded in a scratchy tone.
Leon held his blade firmly, As the creature slam down onto the man luckily Leon was able to pierce the bird's claw right as it attacked him Leon twisted the blade forward straight through it causing the bird to load out a loud piercing cry.
Leon stood up as he was slightly bleeding due to the fact that the bird did injure him but Leon decided to use this time to retreat.
Leon rushed forward pushing on as he saw the bird hastily chasing after him destroying any tree he could see but Leon was not paying attention event he had to go forward he continued pushing forward jumping past the trees jumping onto the trees rolling out of the way of attacks and continuing onward as the bird was chasing him.
Eventually Leon was able to see the gates but the bird was still after him so he continued to dash forward avoiding any attacks coming from the bird eventually he made it to the gates where the birds stopped as archers started to draw their arrows filled with magic the bird paused and decided not to chase anymore if flew back potentially to a nest or wherever it belonged.
Leon collapses to the ground as he notices a guard walking over to him curious on what was happening.
"Leon, are you okay?"
The guard asked.
"I'm a bit shaken up but I'm okay. There was some kind of creature in the woods that killed Ethan."
Leon told the guard.
"What's going on here?" James said as he approached the situation with curiosity.
"there was a creature in the woods…It killed Ethan… " Leon said with a frown.
"Tragic, I shall ready the guards to look into it, you guard go get as many as you can And then take As many as you can into the woods to search for this creature and recover Ethan's body"
James told the guard.
"I just need a moment…"
Leon said.
"This can be a lot I get that however you're going to be needed for the training today, So you can get stronger"
James replied.
"So I can get stronger… I want to make sure nobody else will ever died around me, I want to protect the people who can't protect themselves and protect the ones who can protect themselves but still find a way to lose I want to protect the world that's what I want and if you're saying this training can help I'm in"
Leon said with a heavy sigh.
James gave a nod and motion for the young man to follow him. Of course Leon gave a nod back and followed.
"I understand it can be rough they're preparing the others as we speak If you would honestly like to skip today's lesson it's fine I understand It hurts to lose somebody"
James said.
"No I must go If it means I suffer a tad bit it's fine if these lessons can help then they are needed"
Leon said with a frown on his face.
"Understood then let's hurry The others are probably waiting for us"
James said as he continued on towards the castle as quickly as he could with Leon quickly following behind.
The thing to notice when the guards went to check on Ethan's body and check what had happened they did find the scene of blood and such however the bird was not there neither was Ethan's body It was missing.
