The bright sun beamed down on Leon's neck As he walked further into the forest pushing past any brush that was in his way alongside him was another knight and very similar armor to his own.
"Come along Ethan, apparently there's something spotted near here, let's make it quick. I'm supposed to be joining a special training group to enter its spellborn academy."
Leon told the guard that was tagging along with him.
"Hey it all honesty if that's the case it might be best if we split up I'll take the north side you go east then we meet in the middle how does that sound"
Ethan replied.
"In all honesty not that bad… okay yep that's what we're going with let's make it quick"
Leon said as Ethan gave Leon a nod, dashing forward as he did so.
As Ethan continued further into the woods Leon's figure disappeared in the distance as he could no longer see the young man.
Ethan ran past many trees, plants and all kinds of animals pushing for wood studying any signs of a possible enemy here not finding much, just some animal tracks, a dead cow carcass which smelled rotten but it's not that odd. He also spotted what seemed to be a giant claw mark of some bird but she's just chalked up to animals fighting.
The one thing he did find a bit weird was the fact that he could hear what seemed to be a distant but somewhat nearby bird sound of a crow.
Ethan did get a tad bit suspicious, he now was on guard preparing for anything he looked around suspiciously studying the environment but not seeing anything he pulled out his small blade as he continued forward hearing what seemed to be a mocking sound of some bird it sounded distorted but it got closer.
The sound echoed continued until it was the only thing Ethan could hear, in his off hand was a necklace with a photo of his sister in it he held it tightly gripping it with everything he had.
The sounds of a distant bird only got closer as if it was there the whole time however it went silent immediately.
There was no sound, everything was quiet. It was not a peaceful quiet, it was all of a sudden quiet, as every animal, bug, insect , everything froze as if something was there and they did not want to give out their location for it.
The shadows of the trees only shifted. The darkness they cast only got larger as it was completely dark wherever Ethan went. The shadows covered everything.
Unfortunately for Ethan he knew something was up he just didn't know what, his heart raced has he looked around quickly as he could spending and turning but he didn't see anything It was too quiet all of a sudden out of nowhere he was panicking looking around for anything he could find but there was nothing not an animal in sight not to bug so he ran as fast as he could.
A slight flicker and a sound of trees being scattered apart could be heard That's a large wings loomed over Ethan there's nothing he can do to react a swoosh down as fast as they could as a large black crow like creature with bones and shadows piercing out of it it's broken beak strapped together with blood and tissue as the creature opened its mouth revealing sharp teeth on the beak itself a overwhelming amount of pure panic and dread pierced into Ethan as he attempted to turn around and run but the bird was already behind him again he tried to roll out the way but the bird was there It stopped him with its large wings as it made me echoing chirping sound.
Ethan didn't know what to say he wasn't going to say anything he was terrified but he pulled his sword out attempting to swing at the creature but the bird dodged out the way as a hissing sound could be heard and the bird had piercing eyes studying Ethan It was almost like the creature was smiling but that's impossible it's a bird.
The creature raised its head as its feathers shifted around its large tongue nearly hanging out of its mouth as it dashed directly at Ethan.
What could Ethan even do here he was panicking but instinctively he pulled out his sword trying to parry the attack he was successful however his sword was sworn backwards and crashed to the ground hitting into a tree a good 100 ft away from him.
The look on Ethan's face was that appear panicked as the bird loomed over him menacingly.
The creature swung its beak downward attempting to crush Ethan in one blow however he got lucky as he was able to roll out the way.
Ethan ran a right towards his sword in a panic
Pushing forward with every step he felt dread he continued running trying his best to get there and eventually he did he grabbed the sword but the bird caught him slamming its mighty claw into his back collapsing him into the ground nearly crushing him luckily Ethan managed to somehow stab his sword until the birds claw causing the mighty beast to let him go but unfortunately the blade was now permanently stuck into the bird unless Ethan decided to rip it out which he was not going to.
Ethan's face had nothing but fear on it he looked onward terrified as she pulled out his right hand summoning a crackling amount of energy as a red spiral blasted off his hand turning into a small flame hitting the creature however it bounced off in the bird just looked annoyed more than anything.
The creature got closer as Ethan backed up further panicking there's nothing he could do so he decided it was best to scream out something.
"Help! Leon, help!"
Is all that Ethan could call out as his voice crackled and popped due to the fear.
