Chapter 33 - Chapter 033: Do you want to buy a Rolex?

The one-eyed man lay on the hospital bed, his expression indifferent. He didn't speak, but looked to the side, his heart undisturbed, without even a single thought.

He acknowledged the current situation.

His right leg was temporarily paralyzed.

"How do you feel? Has your eye grown back?"

Lin Fan and Old Man Zhang were being mischievous. Seeing the one-eyed man return, they immediately inquired about his condition. Old Man Zhang was uneasy; the second acupuncture treatment shouldn't have failed.

The one-eyed man ignored them.

He had already realized that these two were mentally ill. He didn't even understand what they were doing, and wondered why he was even bothering with them.

The result was obvious: two faints, and the second time resulted in temporary paralysis of his right leg.

Quite a domineering outcome.

No matter what these two guys asked, he wouldn't say a word.

Currently, Yanhai City was hiding evil beings, and there were plenty of things to do. He didn't have time to waste with these two lunatics. He blamed himself for being stupid enough to not learn from the first time and fall for it a second time.

In other people's words, he was brainless.

"He must be very excited," Lin Fan said.

"That's why he's ignoring us," Old Man Zhang added.

"Hmm..."

Lin Fan and Old Man Zhang whispered to each other, muttering softly.

Zhang Hongmin was very nervous. Another mentally ill person had arrived, a one-eyed man, who looked very serious and was also very strong. If he went crazy, could his small frame protect his beloved daughter?

No... even if it was dangerous, he would fight to protect his daughter.

If the one-eyed man knew what Zhang Hongmin was thinking, he would definitely curse him out. You're the mentally ill one! I'm the one who got screwed over by the mentally ill, but he couldn't be insulted like that.

At this moment, Lin Fan pointed to the little girl lying on the hospital bed and said, "She's in a lot of pain now. I can feel it."

"Should I give her a few needles?" Old Man Zhang asked.

"You can't stick her with needles. She's a little angel. I can see it. Little angels can't be poked by you," Lin Fan said.

"Oh, does she need to drink soy milk then?" Old Man Zhang asked.

The two sat cross-legged on the bed, communicating with expressionless faces.

Zhang Hongmin felt a chill run down his spine. He was under a lot of psychological pressure. He now understood how dangerous it was to be in the same ward with mentally ill patients.

He stood in front of his daughter like an angry lion, pretending to be ferocious, glaring at Lin Fan and Old Man Zhang, sending out a signal: Don't even think about doing anything to my daughter unless you step over me.

Just then, a doctor with white hair came to the ward.

Zhang Hongmin's eyes lit up when he saw the doctor. This was his daughter's attending physician, a very good doctor who had helped him a lot. Knowing his family's financial difficulties, the doctor saved him money wherever possible and even initiated a hospital fundraiser for his daughter.

"Doctor, is there hope? Have we found a matching bone marrow?"

He looked at the doctor with anticipation.

His daughter had been waiting for several months and had undergone many pre-transplant preparations.

The doctor looked at this hopeful father, didn't say anything, and just shook his head.

Zhang Hongmin's hopeful expression disappeared. He swayed, almost losing his balance, and supported himself on the bed rail, muttering, "How could this be?"

The doctor comforted him, "We're still searching. We'll notify you as soon as we find a match."

Zhang Hongmin slumped to the floor, holding his head, his voice hoarse, "But can my daughter wait that long? We've run out of money."

The doctor sighed. He was truly helpless in this situation.

"I've seen news reports about this. If that's the case, I can donate," Lin Fan said.

"He can donate too," Lin Fan added, pointing at Old Man Zhang.

"He can also donate," Lin Fan continued, pointing at the one-eyed man.

"Donate what?" Old Man Zhang asked, confused, holding his acupuncture kit tightly. "Anything but my needles, I can donate anything."

"Hematopoietic stem cells."

"What's that?"

"I don't know, I just saw it on TV."

If there was anyone who was the most bewildered, it had to be the one-eyed man.

He already didn't want to have anything to do with these two mental patients, not even wanting to say a word. He was planning to leave tonight. For a strong person like him, leg paralysis wasn't a problem.

But now, this mental patient, without even asking him, said he wanted to donate his hematopoietic stem cells. Did they even ask for his opinion?

However, for the one-eyed man, both mental patients were willing to do such a thing. If he refused, wouldn't that mean he was worse than a mental patient?

Damn it, he had to compete with them.

The white-haired doctor heard this and looked at Lin Fan and the others. Suddenly, he realized he had almost forgotten that there were two mental patients here. He hadn't taken them seriously just now.

If they had an episode, things could get bad.

But none of that mattered now.

"Are you sure?" the white-haired doctor asked.

"Sure," Lin Fan said calmly.

"Me too. Whatever he donates, I'll donate. But I need to drink Sprite first," Old Man Zhang said. Donating didn't matter, as long as he got his Sprite.

"I want a Coke," the one-eyed man added. He didn't have that much kindness, but he didn't want to be outdone by the mental patients. He nodded in agreement.

Zhang Hongmin gaped, looking at the mental patients he had been wary of in disbelief. He hadn't expected them to be willing to donate. Even though it was unknown if it would be a match, this matter completely shocked him.

He walked to Lin Fan's bed, wanting to grab Lin Fan's hand, but Lin Fan dodged him with disgust. Zhang Hongmin knelt by the bed.

"Thank you..." His eyes reddened, feeling deeply ashamed of his previous behavior.

"Go away."

Lin Fan pushed Zhang Hongmin away. This person was strange, crying for no reason, thanking him for no reason, and kneeling in front of him, blocking his view.

He looked at the little girl, squinting, the corners of his mouth curving into a smile, revealing his white teeth.

This smile made the white-haired doctor shudder.

Seeing this smile could give him nightmares. It was so chilling, that eerie feeling made his whole body numb.

The little girl lying on the hospital bed, enduring the pain, showed a bright smile.

She liked the smile of this big brother in front of her.

Just like in the cartoons, it was the kind of smile that could make people feel warm.

The scene was quite heartwarming for a moment.

It was something others couldn't feel.

At least, the adults Lin Fan encountered felt a strange, eerie, and terrifying feeling when they saw his smile.

Afterwards, things were very simple.

It was just a blood draw for precise matching.

Lin Fan and Old Man Zhang were VIP clients of this hospital, and they had already undergone physical examinations, so their data was readily available.

There was no need to waste time.

Old Man Zhang whispered to Lin Fan, "He seems to be short of money."

"Do you have money?" Lin Fan asked.

"No."

"Me neither."

Old Man Zhang scratched his head, rolled up his sleeve, and lovingly stroked the watch on his wrist. Then he got out of bed, leaned over, and whispered in the one-eyed man's ear, "Do you want to buy a watch?"

"A Rolex."

"A symbol of nobility."

"If you buy it, I'll give you another acupuncture treatment. Interested?"
