Chapter 9 - Chapter 009: Sorry Classmate, I Hurt Your Pride

A major incident occurred in Class 2 of the Senior Year, attracting a crowd of teachers and students.

Even now, they were still bewildered.

Everything had been perfectly normal.

How could they suddenly collapse to the ground? It was truly baffling.

"Do you think Class 2 was abducted by aliens for research? I just saw someone twitching while being carried away by doctors."

"Hmm, that's very possible."

"From what I've read in novels, their condition is more like failing a tribulation."

"What nonsense are you talking about? Do you think this is a cultivation novel?"

When Lin Fan reached the classroom door, he noticed many classmates looking at him. A smile appeared on his face, and he nodded at them, "Hello, classmates..."

Ring! Ring! Ring!

The class bell rang.

The onlookers dispersed.

Only Lin Fan sat quietly in the empty classroom.

In the quiet, he felt as if he had returned to the peaceful mountains.

Lin Fan stared at the blackboard and slowly closed his eyes. He felt a flow of energy within his body. Following this energy, he found that his body became very comfortable.

The Thousand Hammering and Hundred Refining Method.

It made him realize that cultivation truly existed. Although he didn't know where the Thousand Hammering and Hundred Refining Method came from, his body had indeed become better and stronger.

Tap! Tap!

Footsteps approached.

"Chen Yang, why are you here?" The class teacher hurried over after learning about the incident. She had just sent the students to the hospital and came to the classroom to investigate the cause.

But unexpectedly, she saw Chen Yang sitting there alone.

Lin Fan calmly replied, "Teacher, I'm waiting for class."

The class teacher: "..."

She found something unusual about Chen Yang, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. It was just strange.

"Chen Yang, do you know what happened to them?" the class teacher asked.

Lin Fan thought for a moment, "I don't know. When I turned around, I found them all lying on the ground. I didn't expect studying could be so tiring. It's really not easy."

"Then you can study by yourself here," the class teacher said. She needed to go to the hospital to check on the situation. As the class teacher, she couldn't shirk responsibility for such an incident. If things went badly, she would definitely be criticized, and might even lose her chance at the Excellent Teacher award.

"Okay." Lin Fan nodded and picked up his book, reading slowly.

Hospital.

The nurses were overwhelmed by the number of students brought in. The doctor said that an entire class had collapsed. They couldn't understand why these students, instead of studying, would play such dangerous games that led to this situation.

They didn't have the same dedication to studying as they did back in their day. They practically lived with their books and had no time for anything else.

"Nurse, cut this patient's clothes," the doctor instructed.

Yang Zitian woke up groggily and heard someone about to cut his clothes. He immediately struggled to say, "Don't cut my clothes, they're Armani... very expensive."

After saying this, he fainted again.

The doctor nearly roared. Armani? At this rate, they might as well burn him a stack of Armani paper clothes.

Chuangwei High School.

Ring! Ring! Ring!

The school bell rang.

Lin Fan put down his textbook and walked out of the classroom. He had studied several books and found the content very insightful. He derived a principle from the books: to cultivate, one needs to acquire diverse knowledge.

Although seemingly unrelated, everything in the world is interconnected.

Just as Lin Fan was about to leave the school gate, a cute girl with braids ran up to him, panting.

"Here you are."

The girl stuffed something into Lin Fan's hand and then blushed and hurried away.

Lin Fan looked at the folded envelope in his hand. There was a heart where it opened. Inside, there was a letter.

[Chen Yang, you are a sophisticated boy. I've been watching you for a long time. Others haven't noticed how handsome you are, but I really like you. I hope you can be my boyfriend.]

[If you become my boyfriend, I can buy you delicious food every day.]

[Looking forward to your reply, xoxo.]

Lin Fan read it for a while and muttered to himself, "Someone once said that the mentally ill are not worthy of love. I didn't expect to receive a love letter. It seems I am a beautiful existence in some people's hearts."

"But I'm sorry."

"My life is dedicated to cultivation."

He put the love letter away and walked towards the school gate.

At that moment.

Someone put their arm around Lin Fan's shoulder. "Chen Yang, where are you going? Walk with us."

Lin Fan raised his hand to cover his nose. He smelled a sour odor, the kind that comes from someone who hasn't bathed in a long time.

He turned around.

His memory stirred, and he remembered who this classmate was.

Long, dry yellow hair, tall and thin, with rebellious eyes.

Perhaps realizing that his actions might be misunderstood.

Lin Fan lowered his hand and apologized, "Sorry, classmate, I shouldn't have covered my nose. Your smell is the natural scent of a human who hasn't bathed in a while. It's not poisonous, not harmful, yet I reacted that way, hurting your pride. I apologize."

The tall, thin boy, named Tang Jie, turned cold upon hearing this. His eyes filled with anger, he wanted to punch Chen Yang, but remembering they were still at school, he suppressed his rage.

"I think you're looking for a beating. Wait till we're outside, and I'll beat you to death."

The delinquent students hanging around with Tang Jie clutched their stomachs, laughing uproariously.

They didn't expect Chen Yang to be so savage.

They were almost dying of laughter.

Tang Jie's face turned livid. He glared at his underlings, silencing them.

They all followed Tang Jie for a simple reason: they didn't want to be beaten up at school, and they enjoyed being around the school's influential figures. It made them feel superior.

Who would dare bully them? Who would dare provoke them?

"Let's go. I'll show you what happens outside," Tang Jie threatened. "If you dare yell, I'll beat you every time I see you. Even if I get expelled, I don't care. I'll wait for you at the school gate every day. Let's see who can protect you forever."

Lin Fan calmly replied, "Classmate, you misunderstand. I won't yell, and I won't let you get expelled."

"Let's get to know each other again. Hello, classmate."

He extended his hand to shake Tang Jie's hand.

Tang Jie glanced disdainfully at the smiling Chen Yang, as if looking at a lunatic.

Passing students stared.

They knew Tang Jie.

The school bully. They heard he knew some gangsters outside of school.

He always formed cliques and bullied other students.

Many people hated him.

But strangely.

Many of those who hated him still tried to get close to him, as if saying, "I know Tang Jie" was something to be proud of.

And now.

They prayed silently.

Hoping Chen Yang wouldn't get beaten too badly.
