Chapter song: Once upon a December
This story takes place a year ago, before Julius moved to Avondale and attended East Laurence Preparatory School….
"You're really not going to the Christmas dance this year?" Amélie asked as she bounced around Julius' room, the sugar from the gummy bears she'd just eaten taking affect.
"I already told you I'm not going," Julius muttered, sighing as he focused on his assignment.
"You're probably the only one in the entire school skipping it," she hummed, inspecting the room.
"I highly doubt that. In a school with over five hundred students, I can't be the only one staying home," he replied, still working.
"I'm telling you, you are. Why do you have to be such a killjoy? It's the holidays, a time for joy and celebration, but you're acting like the Grinch. What's the harm in having a little fun?" She fixed him with a pointed look, her eyes on his honey-blond hair.
