"Agares, did you not hear me knocking on the door?"

Julius pressed his lips together, frustrated by the silence. Even if Agares was lost in a book, he had hoped for some acknowledgment of his presence. Instead, it felt like facing an unyielding brick wall.
"Are you upset about what happened earlier?" he asked hesitantly.
Agares didn't answer, but Julius noticed the tension in his body at the mention of it. With a resigned sigh, he slowly approached him.
So he really is mad.
"I-It was an accident. Cyric was about to fall and as I reached out to grab him, I ended up falling as well…and that…happened."
The older boy still hasn't moved nor uttered anything even after Julius explained himself but he wasn't willing to give up just yet.
