Lance walked around the town for three more hours, looking for stuff to buy. When he is done buying all the necessary stuff while casually throwing gold here and there, because it is the only mode of payment that he has, he went back to the place where he is temporarily staying.
"Did you enjoy your trip?' Count Valentin Amorez asked Lance when he's finally back to the count estate that offered him the place.
Lance nodded and showed the paper bag that he's holding to the count, as if saying that the answer should be obvious.
"That's good but, I heard from my men that you are throwing gold coins like it's nothing," the Count inquired. "Regarding that, I think it's best if I trade your gold to our own currency since it'll be troublesome if you gathered more attention than you have right now," the Count continued.
"And regarding your transactions earlier, my men already took care of everything and secured all the golds you distributed and paid the merchants with the same currency that we're using. This is also to protect the current peace that we have in our territory." The count sighed and shook his head before continuing his lecture to Lance. "Just imagine what would happen if a single gold landed on an unguarded house. Tsk, you are just inviting trouble."
Lance just nodded his head in everything that the count said. First of all, everything just makes sense if he thought deeply about it. But he has no time to think about it earlier. One reason is because he is in a rush. The other and the most important reason is because he did not care at all. Why? Because the golds he has in his inventory is more than half a billion. Even those single piece of gold they make a fuss about is just a piece of piece of piece of his current wealth.
"That is all. See you during dinner, Young Dragon Master."
Hearing the title 'Young Dragon Master' made Lance cringe again. And to whoever started the weird alias, he hopes that he's sneezing and will fall on their butt right now.
Apparently, the people of Count Amorez and the Count, himself, all believe that he is related to a dragon because of the artifact that he showed when he's being investigated about the incident.
But that's a D-rank gear he earned for just staying online and playing on for more than 20 hours. It's just an item that replenishes his energy continuously. And even with that, he dies repeatedly on the game.
Quitting his useless in-head drama, Lance laid down on the fluffy bed that the Count prepared for him.
He was currently staying in one of the count's guest rooms and the accommodation is similar to a five-star hotel he only dreamed of when he was in grade school.
To be clear and yes, he knows about it, being a count is a noble position. In modern times, it can be said that the person is the congressman of the region. So, it is given that the count has the resources and is wealthy in his own terms.
Bored and just waiting for dinner time to arrive, Lance closed his eyes and whispered.
"Inventory."
Flashes of holographic images of tablets hovered in front of him like the famous Marven superhero IronM. From it, his inventory can be seen together with the amount of money that he has. If he is a normal player, the inventory will only contain useful things.
But he is not like those skilled players who can sort out stuff, so he had a lot of items in his inventory. Who knows when it might be useful just like the scaled dragon gauntlet that he showed to the authorities.
"Status."
After scrolling on his long list of equipment and materials, Lance checked the status of his character.
NAME: LNCE
AGE: UNKNOWN
RACE: UNKNOWN
LEVEL: 58
TITLE: CANNOT BE DISPLAYED
[INVENTORY EXPIRY COUNTDOWN: 49 DAYS]
"Forty-nine, huh?"
Again, a sly smile crossed on Lance's lips that made him look like not Lance at all. His tone of speaking also changed and his voice became deeper. Using the number of days given and the last amount that he remembered, he computed how long he is already inside the game.
But Lance did not notice this tiny change and just continued staring on his data even though it won't offer him more insights further than what it already showed him.
Eleven days. He's been inside Folkland for 11 days and that includes the long hours of being trapped inside the mansion.
He's still in the daze, thinking what he should do next when the room's door opened in hurry.
"Young Dragon Master, please, get down this instant."
It was Count Amorez and from the way he told him to go down, it seems like a very important thing.
Lance went downstairs, following Count Amorez that was walking a little bit faster than normal.
When the two of them reached the first floor, in the area where the count welcomes his visitors, the count quickly kneeled to his knees and bowed his head that confused Lance.
There was a man, smaller than Lance that holds a parchment paper. For Lance, he seems like a veteran soldier and and a solemn gentleman.
This gentleman was looking intently at Lance but getting the hint that the visitor won't kneel even with the kind of paper that he holds, the man opened the decree with a subtle smile.
"By the Decree of Queen Anastasya, Queen of Izenmei, Lord and Protector of the Southern Lands, Yulia's Beloved Daughter and Representative. Count Valentin Amorez and Dragon Master Lance are summoned to report to the Royal Palace at the earliest possible time. Failure to comply with this decree may result in consequences befitting the authority of the Royal Court. May your swift arrival and faithful service bring honor to the Kingdom. Grace and Honor to Yulia."
