Chapter 9 - Abduct, why?

"I told you to stay still." He said. "You have yourself to blame."

Charlotte's face went red in shame. Did he... Did he just slap her butt?

How... How dare he?

But she was so scared of it repeating itself that she no longer struggled.

Wesley smirked and exclaimed,

"Works every time."

He takes her to this car parked at a distance, Cross followed them with his mouth in a twist. At this point all Charlotte wanted was to leave this place, with our a second thought, she get into the car, Wesley joins her in. The other guy jogging behind them sat at the passenger seat next to the driver.

The driver sped off, leaving the scene behind. Wesley's gaze locked onto Charlotte's averted face during the silent drive to his condo.

As they arrived, Charlotte's eyes widened at the penthouse's grandeur. She'd only seen places like this on TV. He held her hands as he led her.

"Come with me," Wesley said, breaking the silence.

Charlotte followed, her head down. Wesley led her through the main entrance, where two maids pruned trees. They exchanged stunned glances.

"Good morning, sir," they chimed.

Wesley ignored them, shutting the door.

The older maid whispered, "Who do you think she is?"

"Maybe a new staff member?" the younger maid replied, eyeing Charlotte's apron. "But she's too pretty for that."

Their gossip faded as Wesley stepped out, leaving with his entourage.

He'd led her to what seemed like the master bedroom at the top floor. She sat reflecting back on what had just happened. She had just followed the last person she would ever meet again in her miserable life in the most awkward manner and how she followed him to his house. Very far from town. She just had to leave that crazy scene. Maybe she was just been stupid.

There was a soft knock.

"Come in," Charlotte muttered. A maid walked in with a tray of food.

"Here, master asks that you have some food."

Charlotte forces a smile at the petite lady who exits the room. She stares at the cluster of plates and then shifts her gaze. She can't eat food given to her here. She feels a vibration in her Jean pocket, her phone rang. She answers the call.

"Where are you? And why are you in the news on the news Charlotte?" The caller was her younger brother, Jeffery.

"I don't know Jeff." She but her lips as her eyes wandered around the room.

That lunatic had abducted her. She thought. She had absolutely no idea where this house is located but she sure was certain it was far from town.

"Grandma is worried sick. She watched the local news."

Charlotte's eyes fell, her poor Grandmother must be panicking.

"Mr Maguire called our house" Jeffery spoke up.

Charlotte's eyes lit. "What did her say?"

Jeffery went dead silent for awhile which made her almost freak out bulging her eyes in suspense.

"Jeff"

"He's says you are fired"

The words resounded in her head. Charlotte froze.

"Fired?"

"I'm sorry, I know-"

"I put my life on the line Jeff," Her voice had become hoarse.

The phone beeps and then goes dead.

"Damn!" Charlotte exclaimed in frustration. Her cellphone had to die at this critical moment. She bit her lips furious thinking of her next move. She has to get out of this maniacs house.

Meanwhile at Wesley Jamison co limited, Wesley and his board members had just concluded a meeting. The men and women dressed in formal attire exited the big conference room, going about their various business for the rest of the day.

"Hey man!" Cross class out to Wesley who seemed absentminded. He wondered what the devil was scheming in his head. He had concluded other deals and must be planning his next takeover.

Wesley sat with his chin clenched, looking out the window. At the sound of Cross' voice, he jerked.

"Yes Cross"

"You won… like you always do"

"I told you. Let Mr Maguire piss in his pants." Wesley scoffed laughing hard that tears trickled down his eyes.

They had company in the room, Rachel, Wesley's secretary.

"Hey Rachel" Wesley called out to her, she was busy cleaning up the place.

"Yes boss"

"Call my penthouse off town, tell them to treat my guest."

Rachel pauses, "Yes boss".

"I want you dismissed today. Go over and keep my guest company. I don't trust those witty maids."

Rachel marveled at his next outburst, the slender lady adjusted her spectacles. She exchanged glances with Cross and then exited the room. She overheard cross and the driver talk about how their boss had abducted a protesting lady this morning.

"So why did you take her to your place?" Cross broke the silence.

"Miss Charlotte and I have an unfinished business " Wesley smirked.

"Huh, whatever her name is. I just know you aren't a hero."

Wesley winced a bit. He began to pout his lips.

"Stop pouting your lips man" Cross lashed out irked.

"We have a history. She's the mystery girl I picked up that night-"

"You've got to be kidding me" Cross scoffed.

"Yea- it's fate." He rolled his eyes. "I was never able to get my mind off her and I still can't help it. I didn't even realize myself until I had her about my arms. I wanted to devour her in my car. Man, you needed to see how shocked she was. She could never have imagined seeing my ass again and in that embarrassing manner."
