"See if I understood. I was transferred to another body in a world that was a series on mine?" *speaking to a kind of very basic but technological bracelet on the forearm*
-[Affirmative] *even though it was really difficult to believe what the AI from the bracelet was saying, I guess it's acceptable for now? I say not every day you wake up in what I will assume is a somewhat dark mini bunker and some burned out light bulbs and with a bracelet that sticks to your arm like gum to your hair*
*Nonexistent sigh*
"This is bullshit. I'm in cannon time? What can you do? Do I have any special powers or abilities?" *if it weren't for the semi-transparent flickering coming from the bracelet and the AI voice I could completely classify myself as a potential schizophrenic*
-[Unknown, give a temporary energy shield, negative] *that wasn't very helpful, but at least it makes me feel less uneasy when I mention the shield but it still doesn't take away from the fact that I feel a little cheated last while doing He grimaced in disgust when he saw a bucket in the corner of the mini bunker with a sign on the wall that said 'bathroom'*
*After 15 minutes of examining and looking for useful things the only thing I saw so far was that this place has no rooms, which is a really annoying inconvenience, the power generator is almost dying, there are cans here and there discarded and empty, a shotgun with only one bullet, typical climber's warm clothing, an oxygen mask, a shovel and a teddy bear... Okay that last one doesn't make sense*
"Not only am I screwed, I'm also hungry! Which is annoying nichh.., at least this guy's appearance is somewhat decent and he seems to be between 26 and 28. Well if you get rid of the somewhat malnourished body, the hair that looks like a bird's nest and Santa Claus's hideous beard" *examining himself in a broken mirror that was lying on the floor. White skin due to lack of sun, dark circles under his eyes, bad smell, a small scar on his arm that was most likely the result of a fork, hair and beard like.... Just in case, wasn't this one of those crazy people from downtown?*
"Aggh... What a nuisance.." *there really wasn't much to do between the hunger and the restlessness, the most annoying thing is not being in my own bed lying down and listening to sounds of rain, it's great to be in another world and all the thing but NO THANKS even so the thing is already done and nothing can be done about it while he sighed resigned* ".. should I?.." *grabbing the winter clothes* "I have never seen snow in person it would be an interesting experience" *Proceeds to put on his coat before heading towards the exit*
[Warning Warning! Mask not on] *if it weren't for the AI that suddenly mentioned it I would have completely forgotten that the air outside is a bit toxic which takes points away from this unpleasant experience* "nichh.." *after putting on the mask and make sure I was warm, I was able to go out and... I froze to the bone, it's really very cold! Now more than ever I would like something to catch fire nearby so I could go and wallow in it no matter what and to make matters worse it was at night which was even colder. From my point of view there is only snow here and snow there, if I were a penguin I would be happy which is not one of these cases*
*without many alternatives for now he just goes back into the bunker, because let's be honest. Who would go exploring an unknown place at night after having seen enough horror movies?? Even though it wasn't much, something was just something, you fell asleep on an improvised bed without even taking off your coat because it was a pain*
The next day the snow crunched under my feet as I walked through the empty streets of what seemed to be a city. The biting wind made me shiver, and my breath condensed in the air.
I looked around, and saw abandoned buildings, covered in snow and ice. The city looked like a cemetery, where death had claimed all its inhabitants. Skeletons of people lay on the ground and of robots, frozen with time. I shuddered to think that what would have happened to me if it appeared a few years earlier.
I needed to find food and a new shelter because the previous one, although it seemed decent, smelled like excrement. My stomach growled with hunger, and my body shivered with cold. I searched the abandoned stores, but found only rubble and garbage. Suddenly, I heard a noise in the distance. I hid behind a container, and I observed one of those robots that have a helmet.
His height was no taller than mine so a point for those who said they are no taller than an older teenager ha! I couldn't let him detect me since even though in the series you could see that they were somewhat cowardly, it wasn't the series anymore so it was obvious that it wouldn't be the same thing. I waited until he walked away, and then I continued my search. When I was talking to the AI in the bracelet, even though it was great, I realized that it was very simple, it was like I was talking to a newborn, it didn't know anything, it didn't do anything except the shield. and give company at least he could remember the things I tell him that's something. I found a supply store, and inside I managed to see a box of canned food. I was happy to find something edible after moving a couple of furniture and shelves since I was seriously hungry.
While I ate quickly to breathe as little oxygen as possible without the mask so as not to become excessively intoxicated even though it is inevitable not to breathe, the less I breathed the impure air, the better for me. I thought about my situation. I was alone on this planet of walking opossums and I told the odd joke to the AI in the bracelet whose name is Nemo ha. There was no one else of flesh and bones that I know of. The idea seemed unbearably interesting to me. Did the series really show everything? What will I do if the planet goes kaboom the next day or if it's years away? Couldn't they have chosen another idiot for this instead of me!?
After eating, I looked for a safe place to rest. I found an abandoned building, with a door that still worked...just the knob. I hid inside, and covered myself with a blanket that I found on the ground that had a little moss on it but I couldn't be picky right now. The cold was intense, but at least I was safe from the blizzard outside.
I fell asleep, but my dream was interrupted by a strange noise. I woke up, and saw that it was just the wind that had opened a window. I got up to close it, and saw that the city was covered in snow and ice. The moon was shining in the sky next to Saturn? I guess, illuminating the scene, it's a shame I don't have my phone...nichh.
I was getting bored of waiting for daylight so I left one. I wanted to know if I could find useful things. I searched the abandoned buildings silently, but found nothing. Just skeletons and broken robot parts.
Suddenly, I heard a mechanical noise. I hid behind a container, and watched as a robot patrolled the street. This time, it was different. Did he have a cap? in his head, and he seemed to be searching for something.
I wondered what he was looking for. Did they discover me? Why did I forget to bring the shotgun or the shovel from wherever I woke up? I shouldn't have gone out at night right? The idea seemed terrifying to me, as I already said, I'm not a fan of experiencing a horror movie situation! Why didn't they put a combat mode or something on the damn bracelet?! Maybe it's not like my 'body' can fight, say no more since it hasn't received enough nutrients or enough food to be satisfied. And Nemo at least doesn't make noise or talk at inopportune times unless I talk to him, thank you creator of shit.
Days passed while I got a little used to the cold and some loneliness and along the way I continued exploring the city. I found food and shelter, I also grabbed a bar somewhere, but I was always in danger at night. The robots that seem to be cheap Terminators patrolled the streets or flew over from time to time, and I kept hidden because even though I knew that they only annihilate the other helmet bots, that does not mean that I have not seen the episode where it was seen that they did An annihilation of a city in the human wiped out the army completely.
One day, I found a book in an abandoned library that is a little fallen, leaning pizza tower style. It was a diary of a scientist who had worked on a secret project that I honestly didn't care about. It talked about a supposed pandemic that had devastated the planet, and how new robots had been created to protect the survivors. But I mean protect from what or what? At most layers it referred to the cold and lack of resources.
|But something had gone wrong. At first I thought they were doing their job well but after a while the disassembly robots had begun to eliminate the last human survivors of the cataclysm that they were supposed to find from the 'pvp company', and in the end only I had survived but I can't take it anymore, it's a lot of pressure for me.... I'm sorry..|
After reading the diary, I felt hopeful at first but then I didn't feel like continuing reading but still... nothing, I felt bored since it wasn't my world or my people so I didn't give it much thought. affair. To begin with, if robots had been created to protect humans, then there was a possibility that they could be reprogrammed. Why didn't they do that? Were they stupid or what? They are robots daaa, you don't have to be the smartest in the world to know that. The problem in my case is that I never studied programming so I don't think I'm half baked for now.
I began to look for a comfortable place in the library to read since I am in one, I do not intend to disapprove of such a place. Maybe I could find a way to reprogram them, which I really highly doubt because I don't have a workspace to experiment with or a computer to practice on.
The frozen city was still a place of death, destruction and loneliness, but I had a self-imposed mission which was to read until I could no longer and see if I can make Nemo learn to tell jokes. Because? Why who doesn't like the idea of having a kind of Jarvis? It would at least be good to pass the time.
For now I just have to avoid the storm that is coming in the distance and the cold. Watching through a window of the place the thick clouds loaded with thunder that do not seem to promise a pleasant night.
After finding a comfortable place on the second floor of the library to read, 2 hours have passed and now I already have the storm bothering me on top of the building. Every now and then I hear one or another loud thunder that scares me a little, it's not that it's fear. The issue is that it is night and I am almost in the dark, luckily Nemo can illuminate what is necessary for me, now that I think about it, what energy does he use? Just when I was going to ask Nemo how it lasts so long, I heard noise from downstairs so... I quickly told Nemo to turn off the light while I covered myself completely with some blankets that I brought from the little ones' reading room. .
The only thing I could do was hold my 'breath' and listen to footsteps while praying that whatever entered the building would not come.
