"Hearing what you said, it truly is a headache. I don't have any good solutions. After all, it's difficult for a judge to arbitrate family affairs. I think you should think it over carefully!" Brock frowned as he listened to Ash's concerns.
"Forget it; let's focus on the Indigo League Conference for now. We'll talk about the Wright family's issues after the league is over!" Ash sighed, realising that Brock had no solutions.
"By the way, where are we right now? I wasn't paying attention to the road after we left!" Suddenly, Ash noticed that he and Brock had strayed off the path and found themselves in a jungle with no visible route.
"Oh no, I was so caught up in our discussion that I forgot to pay attention to the road!" Brock scratched his head, then pulled out a map from his backpack. He studied it closely, trying to find their location.
"Cha!" Just then, Ash and Brock heard the sounds of Pokémon battling nearby, and it sounded intense.
"That's... Scyther!" Upon arriving at the source of the noise, Brock quickly identified the green figures engaged in combat.
"System, list the highest-level Scyther!" Hearing Brock's comment, Ash silently requested the system's help. He knew Scyther was a Pokémon with great development potential.
Currently, Ash had six Pokémon with him, so he couldn't capture more. The Pokéballs issued by the League contained monitors that tracked the status and strength of a trainer's Pokémon. Once a trainer had six Pokémon, any extras would be teleported to a designated location, such as a nearby professor's lab or Pokémon Center.
"Ding~!"
- Name: Scyther
- Level: Early stage Quasi-High Elite
- Ability: Swarm, Steadfast
- Type: Bug, Flying
- Potential: 100% (42% developed)
"Is that the Scyther with the X scar on its face? Its level is impressive!" After checking the data, Ash looked at the Scyther sporting the X scar.
The arrival of Ash and Brock didn't disturb the five Scyther before them; they continued to battle fiercely, attacking each other as if they were mortal enemies.
"What on earth are they doing? Why are they fighting like this?" Brock, who was next to Ash, frowned as he observed the intense battle. It was clear that the Scythers would sustain significant injuries by the end.
"They're fighting for leadership. Scyther, being a bug-type, usually live in groups. The five in front of us are likely vying for dominance!" Ash provided him with the conclusion he had drawn from his analysis.
As was right, For a Pokémon like Scyther, which has a strong sense of self-esteem, a battle must end in total defeat for one side.
"That Scyther with the X scar is exceptionally strong. It has reached the early stage of quasi-High Elite. No wonder the others want to take him down first!" Ash observed as the Quasi-High Elite Scyther struggling against the combined assault of the other four.
"The level is that high?" Brock was surprised by Ash's assessment. While wild Pokémon were fierce fighters, their harsh environments sometimes hindered their growth.
As Ash and Brock continued their conversation, the Quasi-High Elite Scyther finally succumbed to the combined attacks and fell to the ground, injured.
Seeing their strongest member defeated, the other Scythers quickly retreated. They seemed to have coordinated their strategy to eliminate the strongest opponent first. Contrary to the belief that Pokémon lack intelligence, they could indeed use strategies, similar to humans, even if they couldn't speak. Just look at Meowth in the original series!
"Let's go check it out. I'm very interested in this Scyther!" After the four Scythers left, Ash and Brock approached the fallen Scyther.
"Cha!" The injured Scyther issued a warning as Ash and Brock drew near. The severely wounded Pokémon was on high alert, aware of the dangers in the wild.
"Don't be nervous! I want to capture you and make you my partner, however I won't take advantage of you," Ash reassured Scyther.
Feeling the aura emanating from Ash, Scyther began to relax, allowing Brock to apply medicine to its wounds. It was remarkable how a powerful presence could ease a Pokémon's tension.
"You must be feeling unwilling to accept this. Your level is clearly higher than theirs, yet you were defeated by their combined force. Doesn't that bother you?" While Brock treated Scyther, Ash spoke up.
"Cha!" Scyther seemed to recall the humiliating experience of being besieged and responded with an indignant cry, clearly frustrated by the encounter.
Seeing Scyther's unwillingness, Ash smiled. It was beneficial for Scyther to feel this way. After facing setbacks, one could develop strong motivation for the future. If a Pokémon couldn't endure such blows, its future achievements would be limited.
What Ash didn't know was that while he conversed with Scyther, Giselle at the Pokémon school was now furious!
After Ash and Brock left, remembering her father's words, Giselle decided to travel with Ash to mend their strained relationship, at least until her sister, Cynthia, arrived. However, to her dismay, as she packed her things and chased after Ash and Brock, she got lost and now frantically searched for them!
