"Annyeonghaseyo!"
Both Haein and I greeted loudly as we entered little Yui's house.
"No one's here", Little Yui turned around, blinked, and informed us.
"Oh, isn't it a bit too late in the evening for you to be alone?", Haein asked, surprised.
"I'm used to it, Unni. Don't worry", the little girl responded. Bland.
"Where have your parents gone?", Haein asked on my behalf.
"They are dead"
"OH NO!", Haein let out a little scream of surprise, then covered her mouth with her hand.
"I'm SO sorry to hear, Yui…", Haein continued.
"It's alright, Unni. It's been years"
"When did it happen?"
I stayed out of the conversation and let them chat. It felt like it wasn't my place for me to butt in.
"Probably like within a year after you left"
The little girl didn't have much sadness in her voice - the voice that was of someone who had accepted every card that fate dealt her.
