Devon had no idea Leo would go with them. He thought Leo was only going to escort Alice out but then he got in the car with them.
"He's my familiar," Alice said, sensing Devon's questioning gaze. "So he can't be too far from me."
"Ah, so does that mean he goes everywhere with you?" Devon asked and Alice darted her eyes aside.
She didn't even know how far Leo could be from her but she did feel it when he went upstairs to pick up her phone they forgot on the bed.
When he got that far, it was like she could see a string connecting both of them and it was getting thinner the farther Leo got from her.
She tried to touch the thin string but it didn't have a physical form. She could only see it with her special third eye.
"So, staying too far from each other could be considered a bad thing. What happens when the string snaps?" She wondered out loud and Devon wondered what she was talking about. But before he could ask, Leo returned.
