It was completely unbelievable, completely shocking. We were only gone for an hour or so and look what happened to our village. They were freaking burning our village to ashes.
That in itself was a strange method, a strange modus operandi. Given that we all had the same challenges, it was irrational of them to burn our village to conquer it. It's not as if every time one country wanted to take over another, it had to destroy the other one and then rebuild it.
What a normal person would have done was to force the enemy to surrender and then take over. There was no need to completely destroy the other party.
Now I had two hypotheses: one, they were just some perverts and freaks with this kind of hobby, or two, there was something we were not aware of that was the reason for their nonsensical behaviour.
