Ross adjusted the supplies again, pushing them aside to make more space. Then, with practiced ease, he placed his hands on her leg and began kneading the tight muscle.
Sandra tensed at first, her body on high alert, but as his fingers expertly worked over the cramp, she felt the pain begin to ease. Against her better judgment, she let out a small sigh of relief.
"What's going on back there?" their father, Steven, asked, his voice cutting through the moment. His eyes was on the rearview mirror.
Sandra straightened instantly. "Cramp, Dad. Ross is just helping me with a massage."
"Do you want me to stop and take a look?" Steven asked, glancing at them through the rearview mirror.
"No, it's fine," Sandra said quickly. "I just want to get there before dark."
Steven nodded and refocused on the road, seemingly satisfied.
Ross chuckled softly. "Relax, I'm not going to bite."
