"You are the guys that attacked us?" Klein asked the demure-looking girl, his eyes widening in surprise. His expression turned cold as his gaze bore into her.
"To our credit or fault, we didn't know you were not an elf at the time," the girl said, biting her lips.
"So you'll attack elves for no reason?" He still kept his displeased look set on his expression.
"We were not attacking without reason," she said. "Nor did we attack viciously. Doing so would be nothing less than a death sentence, since we are on elven grounds."
Klein frowned.
The girl continued her explanation. "This is Lin Yun," she said, pointing at the other girl. "She's my brother's dao companion and was captured by the elves early on. Brother was trying to capture some elves to ransom them to get her back."
Klein blinked. The plot had just thickened. "But you guys are unable to do that."
