Chapter 53 - Trees

The place Elder Celeste brought him was actually a graveyard. Of course, it wasn't your typical cemetery, with most of the tombstones made of white marble and pristinely clean. A familiar-looking, bone-white tree with starlet leaves, though far superior in height, stood at the back of the graveyard, shading the whole place. 

Elder Celeste crept through the solitary graves, Klein in tow, the crimson shadows flickering over him. They went straight to the elder tree when, suddenly, light seemed to flicker from the bark, and out came a figure. 

A girl of fifteen with the same bone-white skin tone and curly scarlet hair dropped before them, a smile plastered to her lips. She had the pointy elven ears and could have passed for an elf if not for her display a moment ago. 

Her eyes darted to him for a moment. "I was getting worried that you'd miss the day," the girl said. "Who's this fella?"
