Chapter 6 - N6

She stepped back, surprised by his tone. "Lucas, I'm only telling the truth. Maybe you should stop living in the past and focus on the future. »

Lucas remained silent, a dull fury bubbling within him. He'd known something was wrong with Emily for a long time, but he refused to see the signs. Now he could no longer ignore reality. She wasn't the person he thought she was, and it was becoming more and more obvious.

The next day, he began investigating discreetly, speaking to those who had been close to Emily. He discovered disturbing truths, manipulations and lies that had undermined his confidence and weakened his position as alpha. The members of the pack had been divided, secret alliances formed against him under Emily's influence. The more he dug, the more he realized what a poison she had been to the pack.

Lucas realized he had to take drastic action to save his father and restore unity to the pack. He knew Stella was his best chance, but he also had to protect his children and his heart. He had to find a solution that wouldn't put anyone in danger, especially those he loved.

One evening, as he considered his options, a desperate idea occurred to him. He turned to his trusted advisors, those who had been loyal to him from the beginning.

"We need to consider all options," he said, his voice deep. "Even if it means going beyond our traditions and comfort. »

The advisors looked at each other, worried but ready to listen. "What do you suggest, Lucas? » asked one of them.

"Stella," he replied simply. "We need to convince her to come back. Not just for my father, but for the survival of the pack. »

A heavy silence followed his statement. Lucas knew this went against everything they had known, but there was no other choice.

The next day, Lucas gathered his courage and called Stella again. "Stella, it's Lucas. I need to talk to you, please. This is important. »

Stella, despite her reluctance, agreed to meet him in a discreet café in the city. Seeing him enter, she felt a wave of memories invade her. Lucas had changed, his face marked by fatigue and stress.

"Thanks for coming," he said, sitting down across from her.

"Lucas, you know it's complicated for me," she replied softly. "I can't just abandon my life here. »

"I understand," he said, his eyes showing deep sincerity. "But I'm not asking you to come back permanently. Just to help us get through this crisis. My father... Alaric doesn't have much time left. »

Stella looked down, feeling the pain in his words. "I'll do what I can, Lucas. But I can't risk my children's safety. »

Lucas nodded. "I promise you that I will do everything to protect your children. I know I'm asking a lot of you, but I have no one else to turn to. »

Stella took a deep breath, her heart torn between duty and protecting her family. "I'll come. But this must be temporary. And I want guarantees for my children. »

"You have my word," Lucas replied, relieved but aware of the weight of his promise.

They discussed the details, making a plan for Stella's return. Lucas knew he was playing a risky card, but he had no other choice. The survival of his father and the pack depended on it.

Back at the pack, Lucas prepared to confront Emily and expose her manipulations. He knew it would be a difficult confrontation, but he was willing to do anything to protect those he loved. The truth had to come out, and it was time to right the wrongs.

Emily, sensing that something was up, tried to manipulate the situation to her advantage. But Lucas, armed with evidence and the determination to protect his family, stood firm. The confrontation was intense, sharp words and bitter revelations replacing the trust and love they had once shared.

"You have no more power here, Emily," Lucas said with cold determination. "I won't let you harm the pack again. »

Emily, caught off guard by Lucas' newfound strength, realized she had lost. She tried to play on emotions, but Lucas was now immune to her charms.

"You should leave," he concluded. "For the good of all. »

Emily, seeing that she could no longer do anything, left the pack, leaving Lucas and the other members to rebuild without her toxic influence.

Lucas then turned to Stella, grateful for her return and her precious help. Together, they began working on his father's treatment, hoping that their efforts would be rewarded.

The following days were intense, filled with hope and fear. Stella worked tirelessly, her skills and dedication shining through at every turn. Lucas, for his part, found new life in the fight to save his father and restore the unity of the pack.

Stella's children were kept safe, protected by pack members loyal to Lucas. Stella and Lucas, although facing immense challenges, began to find new common ground, a new form of collaboration based on respect and gratitude.

Despite the pressure, there were quiet moments when they would come together, discussing the past, their hopes and their fears. These conversations brought some healing to their broken hearts, a reminder of the deep bonds they once shared.

One evening, after a long day, Lucas and Stella found themselves on the balcony, looking at the stars.

"Thanks for coming back, Stella," Lucas said, breaking the silence.

She smiled slightly. "I had to do it. For Alaric. And for you. »

Lucas took her hand, a simple action loaded with meaning. "We've been through so much. But I'm confident we can overcome this

Together. »

The days passed and Stella put all her medical know-how into action to treat Alaric. The intensive treatments were beginning to show signs of improvement, and a tentative hope was growing within the pack. Members saw in Stella not only a healer, but also a beacon of hope for a more stable future.

Meanwhile, Lucas worked to right the wrongs caused by Emily. He reconsolidated alliances within the pack and worked tirelessly to restore trust and unity. The revelation of Emily's true manipulative nature had been a shock, but it had also allowed the members of the pack to become closer and to rediscover their common values.

One night, after a long day of work, Lucas and Stella found themselves on the balcony again. The stars shone above them, and a calming calm reigned.

"Stella, I don't know how to thank you," Lucas said, his voice laced with sincerity.

"You don't need to thank me," she replied softly. "I do what I can to help. That's all. »

Lucas looked at her, his eyes shining with gratitude. "You've done more than that. You gave us hope. »

Stella looked down, touched by his words. "I just hope it will all be worth it. That we can save Alaric and bring peace to the pack. »

"We'll make it," Lucas said determinedly. "With you by our side, I am confident that we can overcome any challenge. »

The following days were marked by encouraging progress in Alaric's state of health. Stella had implemented a strict and innovative treatment regime, combining her modern medical knowledge with traditional remedies from the pack. Each day, Alaric seemed to regain a little of his strength, and it brought immense joy and relief to everyone around him.

However, the situation was not without challenges. Stella's children began to ask questions about their unusual surroundings. Paul, who stayed at home to protect them, did his best to answer their questions without revealing too many details about the nature of their family and the reasons for their mother's absence.

One evening, when Stella came home from an exhausting day watching over Alaric, she found Lucas sitting alone in the living room. The air was heavy with unspoken tension, and she felt there was something he needed to share.

"Lucas, what's wrong? » she asked, sitting down next to him.

He took a deep breath, seeming to search for words. "I wanted to talk to you about something. About us, and what happened. »

Stella stiffened slightly, anticipating the direction of the conversation. "Okay, I'll hear you. »

Lucas looked at her, his eyes filled with regret. "I know I made decisions that hurt you. Choosing Emily over you... it was a mistake. A mistake that I deeply regret. »

Stella felt a wave of emotions rise within her. "Lucas, that's not easy to hear. But we have all made difficult decisions. »

"I know," he said, his voice thick with pain. "But I want you to know that I still care about you. That I regret losing you, and that I will do everything in my power to right the wrongs of the past. »

Stella took a deep breath, trying to hold back the tears that were threatening to fall. "Lucas, we've all changed. We have our lives, our responsibilities. I don't know if we can go back. »

Lucas nodded, understanding the complexity of the situation. "I'm not asking you to go back. Just to give me a chance to show you that I can be worthy of your trust again. »

Silence settled between them, heavy with unsaid promises and old scars. Stella knew Lucas' words came from the heart, but she wasn't ready to reopen the wounds of the past so easily.

The following days, Stella focused on her work, trying to put her thoughts in order. Lucas, on the other hand, did his best to prove his determination to change and right the wrongs of the past. He was there every day, ready to support Stella and help her with her work, showing his gratitude and respect.

One afternoon, while taking a well-deserved break, Stella received a video call from Paul and the children. Their smile and their energy warmed his heart.

"Mom, when are you coming home? » asked one of the triplets, his eyes shining with innocence.

"Very soon, darling," she replied with a smile. "Mom just has to finish something important here. »

Paul interjected, his eyes full of understanding and support. "We support you, Stella. Take all the time you need. We are proud of you. »

Stella felt her eyes fill with tears. "Thank you, Paul. I miss you all so much. »

The conversation with her family gave her the strength she needed to continue. She remembered why she was doing all this, and she knew she had to stay strong for them.

Back at Alaric's room, Stella continued to follow her treatment protocol diligently. Every improvement, no matter how small, was a victory. She worked closely with the other members of the pack, creating an environment of support and cooperation.

One evening, as she finished her day, Lucas came to see her with an expression of sincere gratitude. "Stella, I wanted to show you something. »

Curious, she followed him outside, where he took her to a place they used to frequent. A quiet corner, with a breathtaking view of the valley below, where they had spent many precious moments together.

"I wanted to thank you," Lucas said, looking at the horizon. "For all you do for my father, for the pack, and for me. »

Stella smiled softly. "You don't need to thank me. I do what is right. »

"No, Stella. You do much more than that. You give us a chance to heal and rebuild. »

They stood there in silence, enjoying the tranquility of the moment. For the first

time in a long time, Stella felt a weight lift from her shoulders. Maybe, despite everything, there was still hope for her and Lucas.
