Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: The Blade of No Light

Among the legendary weapons, the Blade of No Light stood out as a unique long sword. It was not only a coveted treasure for collectors but also the ultimate tool for those who sought understated luxury. The sword's resilience was unmatched; it could absorb ambient energy—whether light, darkness, or magic power—automatically repairing any damage and growing stronger with each absorbed energy pulse.

While the Blade of No Light lacked the exceptional sharpness of the Dragon Slayer series or the specialized abilities of rune weapons, its unique self-repair and strengthening capabilities made it a prized possession. When the main weapon suffered unexpected damage, the Blade of No Light was the ideal backup. It was particularly well-suited for dual-wielding, serving as a defensive asset. Moreover, the Blade of No Light could also defend against magic, though its effectiveness was limited. Its mere existence could disrupt certain spells, particularly those aimed at enhancing weapons. However, this characteristic also made it a "strange" weapon in the eyes of some players—it could neither be blessed with benefits nor cursed.Rumor had it that the original owner of the Blade of No Light was a tentacle monster player, and all the data about the sword was provided by this player. Now, Aflra stood in Daniel's treasure house, carefully inspecting the weapon. The room was filled with an array of weapons. Among them, a blood-colored long sword glowed brightly, but it did not pique Aflra's interest. She knew this long sword, the Blood Demon Sword, was highly practical but lacked the uniqueness she sought. Aflra preferred distinctive items that would showcase her personal taste. Finally, she found the Blade of No Light, blending seamlessly into the shadows in the corner. Aflra walked up, reached out, and grasped the hilt. A cool sensation spread through her body in an instant. As she drew the sword, the torchlight flickered slightly, as if paying homage. The surface of the Blade of No Light was treated with a matte finish, reflecting no dazzling light. It was a standard long sword that could be used with one or both hands, but Aflra preferred the latter. The hilt was wrapped with unknown animal skin, adorned with an exquisite carved crossguard and a round fire pattern counterweight ball. The blade, three fingers wide and two and a half feet long, tapered towards the tip, ideal for piercing armor. The overall design was simple yet stylish, far more understated than the colorful rune swords. After equipping the sword, Aflra noticed that the surrounding light seemed to dim, especially in areas with torches. The flames seemed to be drawn towards her, as if paying homage. This invisible momentum pleased her, like a child who had acquired a favorite toy.Aflra took the Blade of No Light and left the room, returning to the wide corridor of the dragon's nest. The corridor was spacious, about ten yards wide, with huge pillars on both sides. Torches illuminated the entire corridor, making it as bright as day. This corridor, needless to say, was built for dragons to walk.Along the sides of the pillars, there were sections of space, divided into cages where monsters were kept.Aflra looked at the torches, stretched out her hand, and extinguished the flames with a wave. The runes in the torches took effect, and the flames reignited. After passing through the corridor and returning to the hall along the stairs, Aflra descended to the other end of the hall. There were four passages in the hall, two leading down at both ends, one of which was the passage to the dragon's treasure house. The remaining two passages led outside and to the dragon's bedroom, respectively.Aflra carefully navigated the corridor, descending the stairs. The layout was similar to the one she had just passed through, except that instead of a camp, there were cages lining both sides.A few wolves stared wide-eyed, watching as the figure approached rapidly. The flames around them extinguished, their dark vision unable to clearly discern the figure. The gray wolf's hair exploded, and it howled at Aflra. In the shadows, three pairs of green eyes flashed and disappeared.A shadow evil wolf suddenly pounced out, its speed so swift that it seemed to blend into the shadows. However, a slight disharmony made its presence detectable. Aflra casually waved her sword, the disharmony expanding and causing the shadow evil wolf to become as fragile as paper. The shadow wolf was torn apart silently.
