Chapter 30 - Chapter 30

Vex waved his hand to interrupt.

"From now on, store all the collections in one place and remind me periodically to collect them.

Other than matters concerning my women and major events, things like location selection or construction don't need to be reported."

"Handle the small stuff yourself."

Natasha nodded respectfully.

"Understood, boss!"

As they spoke, Vex stepped outside. The scorching midday sun beamed down, but he felt an unusual sense of pleasure.

His super cells greedily absorbed the solar energy, evolving slowly.

It seemed that the B-level [Superman Gene] meant that he had directly acquired that level of combat power, but wasn't restricted to it.

He could continue to strengthen his super cells by basking in the sun.

"System, what's Clark's combat level now?"

[A-level]

"And his upper limit?"

[S-level]

Vex nodded knowingly, looking into the distance.

This SHIELD branch was located in Manhattan, not far from Stark Tower, with the slightly shorter building beside it being Osborn Tower.

In SHIELD's archives, Vex had read intel on Norman Osborn, who had been seeking medical treatment everywhere for the family's hereditary "retroviral hyperplasia."

Time to cash in on this.

"Let's go, we're buying out Osborn."

Natasha was just about to raise her long legs to follow, but Vex shot into the sky.

Natasha: "..."

She silently lowered her legs and headed back into the branch office.

After all, she couldn't fly and would have to drive to catch up.

Using his super vision, Vex easily located Norman Osborn on the top floor.

As usual, he shattered the glass, stepped in, and then repaired it a moment later.

Norman stared at him, dumbfounded.

—Is this polite, or not?

Vex studied Norman.

Though his bones were still youthful, his skin had aged severely, and the wrinkles on his face were comparable to those of Pierce.

This was good.

The more urgent his illness, the better leverage Vex would have.

"It's you!" Norman recognized Vex. "The alien savior? What are you here for?"

"To cure your illness," Vex replied as if it were the most obvious thing. "One deal: you hand over all of Osborn Biotech to me, and I'll cure your family's genetic disease. Deal?"

Norman jumped up in surprise.

"You... you can really cure it?" he exclaimed, excited. "You want Osborn? Take it! It's all yours!"

Osborn Biotech had been founded to treat the genetic disease anyway.

Giving it away meant nothing as long as he was still alive.

His research skills and family fortune would still remain; rising again was only a matter of time.

Most importantly…

Vex had risen above the ranks of superheroes to become the "savior." Whether by power or background, Norman knew he couldn't compete.

He had no bargaining power at all.

"Straightforward! I like dealing with smart people," Vex said as he stepped forward, tapping Norman from a distance.

The [Horse Talisman] activated.

In a flash, Norman transformed from an old man to his thirty-year-old self. His previously hunched back straightened, and his once dim eyes now sparkled with vitality.

His entire being radiated life!

Norman was ecstatic!

He had survived!

Finally, the family curse had been broken, and he could live past thirty!

The office door opened, and Natasha entered gracefully in her usual secretary outfit.

"Perfect timing," Vex ordered. "Do the handover with him, and make sure all the finished products and technologies have a copy stored in my personal files."

"Understood! Boss!"

Natasha approached Norman without much surprise in her eyes.

If Vex could restore her womb, a mere hereditary disease was hardly a challenge.

"Mr. Osborn, please cooperate with me," Natasha said politely.

Norman stared at Natasha's enchanting face with some confusion.

"Aren't you... Stark's personal secretary?"

"That was just a previous assignment. My current boss is Vex." Natasha smiled. "The boss doesn't like to waste time, so please cooperate with the handover."

Norman nodded without further words.

He returned to his desk, activated the key, and the surface turned into a screen. After a few clicks, he handed the key over to Natasha.

"Now, all of Osborn Biotech belongs to you."

Natasha smiled and shook her head.

"You haven't given the underground lab access yet."

Norman's face changed!

That secret lab was involved in military cooperation, known only to a select few. How did this woman...

Vex glanced at Norman. Was he trying to be sneaky?

"Mr. Osborn, don't forget, your son hasn't been cured yet," Natasha reminded him kindly.

Norman's face twitched slightly.

"My apologies, I was too excited and overlooked that."

He returned to his desk and after a few more clicks, a wall opened, revealing an elevator entrance.

Norman looked at Vex and said, "The handover for the underground lab requires completion down below. Please, follow me."

"Let's go. I'm curious to see it."

...

The three of them entered the elevator and descended into the underground.

As the doors opened, they were greeted by a "display room," where Osborn Biotech's core products were showcased.

The Green Goblin suit, Rhino armor, Doc Ock's mechanical tentacles...

Adding these to the calculation with Stark's Mk-6 should yield another decent reward.

Norman completed the authorization, and after Vex's fingerprints and iris were scanned, everything was officially handed over to him.

Norman then looked at Vex expectantly.

"I've given you everything. So when can you help my son Harry?"

"Go bring him here," Vex said.

"No problem!" Norman responded happily.

He instinctively turned to use the elevator but found it wouldn't open. The screen flashed: "Insufficient access."

Norman's face suddenly became complex, feeling a strange sense of displacement...

Vex casually added Natasha's access rights.

"You take him up and handle the board handover. Make sure they know us."

"Understood! Boss!"

After they left, Vex marveled at the collection of "action figures" around him.

That's the value of intelligence!

If he hadn't gone through the intel, he might have forgotten about milking Norman for all he's worth.
