Chapter 3 - Shopping and stockpiling.

Ethan's attitude towards Raina was extremely cold.

Raina and Cathy both sensed that something was off. However, after mistakenly assuming that Ethan was a hidden rich second-generation, they did not get angry at his attitude but instead took the initiative to approach him.

What's wrong with a rich person having a bit of an attitude? It's called style!

"Hey, Ethan, were you just eating at this restaurant?" Cathy asked in a seemingly casual tone.

Ethan frowned slightly; this woman wasn't any better, she was as bad as Raina. She had also played a part in taking away his food and leading to his death.

"Yeah," Ethan replied coldly, then put his hands in his pockets and turned to head towards the supermarket.

Raina and Cathy quickly followed.

"Ethan, where are you going?" Raina asked with a gentle smile.

"To the supermarket."

Ethan's voice remained cold, with a hint of impatience. If it weren't for wanting her to experience the despair of the apocalypse, he would have already dealt with her. But now, he needed to bide his time and plan carefully.

Cathy couldn't help but ask,"Ethan, your monthly salary is only a little over ten thousand, right? This meal must have cost you half a year's salary."

"It seems like your family left you quite a lot of money."

Raina shot a sharp glance at Cathy. Idiot, how could you just blurt out such a question! As a top-tier schemer, the most important rule is: talk about feelings with the rich, and money with the poor!

Realizing her mistake, Cathy hurriedly tried to cover it up."Hahaha, I was just joking. We're all good friends, money doesn't matter."

But Ethan didn't pay them any attention. He arrived at the food section, looking at the shelves full of various products as if he had entered a treasure trove. In his previous life, he had experienced living on a single pack of instant noodles for two days. So, he had an insatiable desire for food.

He walked straight to the shelf and started piling food into the shopping cart—sausages, instant noodles, self-heating hotpots, and seasonings, he bought them in large quantities.

This action left Raina and Cathy stunned."Ethan, why are you buying so much food? Are you going camping?"

"Yeah," Ethan answered indifferently.

Cathy became suspicious and whispered to Raina,"Would a rich second-generation eat these things while camping?"

Raina was also puzzled, but thinking about the Michelin-starred meal, she didn't want to give up the idea that Ethan was a rich second-generation. She ran up to Ethan and offered,"Do you need any help?"

With free labor available, Ethan saw no reason not to use it. Plus, seeing Raina's overly eager smile, he got an idea for revenge.

He had one month to prepare for the apocalypse. Building a perfect shelter to ensure his safety wouldn't be difficult. As for supplies, he could still get them from the Walmart warehouse. This way, he could ensure his absolute safety and a comfortable life during the apocalypse.

Why not intentionally let Raina know that he has some supplies stored, and then make her beg for his help when the time comes? And if she leaks the information, attracting those despicable neighbors, he could deal with them easily. With a well-constructed safe house, he wouldn't worry about being besieged; instead, he could effectively counterattack.

Thinking of their helpless frustration, a twisted smile appeared on Ethan's face.

Well, this is indeed an option that can be considered. Ethan plans to go back and find a security company to build such a safe house.

If possible, use this plan. If not, he will stay away from the city and find a remote wilderness to build an underground shelter. This is a two-handed preparation.

The corner of Ethan's mouth curled up,"Then you help me push the cart!" Raina quickly nodded and agreed. Ethan asked Cathy to push a cart back.

Although the two of them were full of doubts, they still did as ordered. Ethan bought a lot of food that could be stored, including instant noodles, ham sausages, and some bacon and canned food.

He also used a cart to store fresh meat, fruits, vegetables, and some live fish. He wanted to test whether his special space had any special effect on storing fresh food.

The three carts were full, and Ethan gave the cart full of beef, mutton, and cans to the two women to push. You know, in the apocalypse, the value of these materials will be at least tens of thousands of times higher!

It can even be said to be priceless. Because no matter how much money you have, you may not be able to buy a bite to eat. Since Ethan bought a lot of things, the supermarket also lent him the cart very quickly.

Ethan rudely asked the two women to help him push the things home. In fact, he had his own car, so he could drive his things back. However, there was free labor, so there was no need for it. Although the two women kept shouting that they were tired, Ethan promised to treat them to a big meal, and they immediately became motivated.

So, the group of three pushed the three carts of supplies back to the community.
