Diana carried a tray of food covered with a stainless steel lid, the kind you'd usually see in high-end restaurants when serving customers. Normally, Diana herself would be the one receiving such an honor, but this Saturday, things were quite the opposite.
She had been experiencing this reversal for three days now, from Thursday to Saturday. This wasn't her actual job, but a task that had been assigned to her—or more precisely, passed down by those above her, the damned leaders.
Diana took the tray and rode the elevator up to the room of the child she was about to give a piece of her mind to. The child was staying in the Suite located on the 56th floor, the top floor of this organization's building.
It didn't take long before she reached the Suite floor. She stepped out and walked a few meters until she arrived at her destination.
Diana stopped in front of a large, luxurious door. Standing before it, she said, "Ecra, open up," and as she spoke, the door opened, allowing her to enter.
The room was extremely dark, not even a single ray of light illuminated the space, as though the darkness itself was part of the room's interior design.
This dark room was the most luxurious and largest within the organization's building, and it belonged to the leader and main commander, often referred to by subordinates as "Your Highness," although that title didn't quite suit the owner of this room.
In the darkness of the room lay a small 15-year-old girl, fast asleep in her bed, completely naked.
"Raven, I'm coming in," Diana said, pressing the speaker button outside the room of the girl called Raven.
Normally, anyone wanting to enter Raven's room would need her permission first.
This was because of several incidents that had happened in the past, incidents that made even the organization's members too afraid to open the door to Raven's room unless she explicitly told them to. Even then, some still hesitated.
Some members had been heard saying things like: "Her Highness is terrifying, I never want to do that again," "The boss is like a monster," "Only a demon would dare wake her up," and "Raven looks so beautiful when she sleeps," among other things.
Almost all of the organization's members were scared of this 15-year-old girl, but Diana was different.
*jzz* The door opened with a startling sound, likely due to its high security—Raven's door had three layers of protection, reinforced by sensors in every corner that couldn't even be counted.
Diana stepped forward into the darkness. Normally, humans or other creatures would have difficulty seeing in total darkness like this, but Diana, being an Elf, had night vision similar to her close relatives, the Dark Elves, who thrived in the night. This made it easy for her to walk up to Raven's bed in the middle of the room.
"Are you still asleep?" Diana asked the girl who was still lying in bed.
"...zzzz."
"Hah!" Diana sighed heavily at the sight of the troublesome child before her. She still couldn't fully accept that this child was now her boss, the leader of this organization.
But…
Even though I hate her for personal reasons, I can't deny she's an extraordinary brat.
Diana put her feelings aside and placed the tray of food on a small table near Raven's bed. Then, she sat down and stroked Raven's face, which looked stunning with her short-cut black hair.
Her flushed cheeks made Raven look like a doll. She was incredibly cute, likely due to her young age—still only 15 and in her third year of middle school.
Diana was always mesmerized by Raven's appearance, but along with that feeling came sadness whenever she saw her.
Diana often caressed parts of Raven's body, especially her chest and left thigh near her intimate areas. There, Raven bore scars from bullet wounds, which were clearly visible, not to mention the slashes and other terrifying marks across her body. To Diana, Raven's body resembled a horror painting.
But she set those thoughts aside. After running her hand gently over Raven's small face, Diana stood up and went to one corner of the room.
"Ecra, open the gate!"
"YES, MA'AM."
Diana gave the command to Ecra, the AI defense program designed specifically for the building, to open the metal plates covering Raven's entire room.
With Ecra's quick response, the metal panels began to retract, allowing a sliver of light to enter the room through the still-closed curtains.
Without hesitation, Diana pulled open the window facing Raven.
*creeeek* Enjoy this, the sound of screeching.
The window opened with a louder noise than usual, probably because Diana was deliberately making noise to wake Raven. The tactic worked, though it produced an unexpected result.
As soon as the light hit Raven, she woke up with tears streaming down her face and cried out, "FATHER!"
Her hand reached toward the ceiling, her eyes overflowing with tears.
What have I done?
Diana was startled. She ran over to Raven, thinking her actions had caused her some distress in her sleep, leading to this emotional outburst now. Even though such a thing was unlikely, Diana acted as she did, perhaps due to other underlying reasons making her overreact.
Once she reached Raven, she hugged her tightly.
"I'm sorry, Raven. Don't cry."
Raven paused for a moment, glanced around, then looked at Diana. She made a strange face and then said, "A dream?"
Diana loosened her embrace a little and looked at Raven's face, which now seemed a bit brighter.
Diana, still holding Raven, let go when Raven patted her shoulder and said, "I'm fine," in her usual flat tone.
After Diana released her, she examined Raven's face to make sure she was really okay and no longer crying.
Then she asked, "What happened?"
But Raven, in her usual monotone, replied, "None of your business."
This response made Diana's forehead wrinkle even more, and her usual attitude returned.
*Slap*
Diana smacked Raven's pretty, cute face, which was starting to get a little annoying with that lifeless, dead-fish expression and her apparent lack of any will to live.
Raven's cheek, though it should have turned red from Diana's slap, wasn't bruised or even scratched.
"Tch," Diana clicked her tongue. Timing's perfect, you damn Red Eyes.
Raven rubbed her cheek as if she actually felt pain there.
I should've slapped her with the tray earlier. Ugh, annoying.
"Get up! Eat, and get down here quickly. The branch managers from Jakarta are coming."
"Huh?"
"Don't just say 'huh,' get up, shower, and put your clothes on."
"Oi."
Diana's forehead wrinkled again. "I'm going to age quickly because of this," she muttered, though that likely wouldn't happen, since she was an Elf.
With that, Diana stormed out of Raven's room, stomping her feet in frustration.
****
The room fell silent after Diana left, and Raven lay back down in her bed.
It felt so real.
"Ma'am!" "What is it, Ecra?"
"There's a message from Madam Diana! She says: 'You brat, if you go back to sleep, I'll throw you off the top of the building!' She sounded angry."
"She's going to age quickly and never get married at this rate."
"Madam sent another message: 'If you think I won't get married because I keep getting mad, I'll drag you into my group, and you'll stay a spinster forever, you brat.' End of message from Madam Diana."
"Hmmph." Raven smiled faintly. Then she said, "Too bad I'm not a 'spinster'. Ecra, prepare the files for today's meeting and get my clothes ready. Tell Dixon to prepare all the equipment for tonight's operation and... what time is it?"
"It's 11 AM, ma'am."
Why did she give me breakfast at this hour? Is she...? Ugh, whatever.
Raven sat in silence for a moment, then said, "Prepare everything. ...I'll talk to her later."
"Understood, ma'am."
