Celeste woke up in a tangle of blankets and limbs, an arm draped over her waist, her own leg tangled with another two. She felt so comfortable, her body relaxing from met needs and the intense pleasure of last night's intimate relations. She moved to lay on her back, then saw Tiel's relaxed face as he slept.
Their bodies were still naked as she faced him. Soon, a ring from the phone interrupted their sleep, with Tiel reaching for it without a second thought.
"Good morning, how can I help you?" he asked, eyes still closed. Celeste moved closer, listening in on the conversation.
It was Erickson, demanding to know why Avond didn't pick up his call. Saying that if it was about family matters and hurt feelings, they should discuss it outside of work hours.
Celeste looked over her shoulder. It was six. Their workday started at eight.
