Dan's POV
Dad came back home not long after the elder's announcement and went to his room. I was still seated at the table in my room, the journal book opened before me on the desk as I studied it trying to figure out what it was that I was missing.
"You'd better get whatever it is that you want. I doubt the elders would be putting the human realm into consideration anytime soon" Dad's voice rang right behind me slightly startling me. I turned around in my chair to face him.
That's right, the synchronized teleportation is to happen tomorrow by midnight.
"What's going to happen to Avy?" I couldn't help asking as we still hadn't gotten any news about her. My suspicions about dad being responsible for her disappearance were starting to grow.
Dad's expression remained neutral but his eyes sparkled with something that looked like amusement. "I have business to take care of. Wait in my office with Fin when he arrives" he finally spoke completely ignoring my question and vanishing in a puff of black smoke and feathers before I could voice my thoughts. I was slightly surprised.
Why would dad leave I and Mr. Finral alone? Is he not aware that- it was then that realization hit me and I was filled with more dread than fear as I stared at the black feathers that lay on the ground dad had just been standing.
He's known all along.
The realization that dad was aware of our intentions but chose to do nothing, as much as I would hate to admit it, shook me quite a bit. Whether he knew exactly what our plan was but deemed it incompetent lr whether he knew we were planning but didn't bother trying to find out what the plan was because he didn't see us hindering him in anyway, I didn't know but both scenarios spoke volumes of our inabilities.
I clenched my fists at both sides of me as I strolled down the street biting down on my lower lip. So infuriating..... I huffed as I kicked a small pebble out of my way then sighed in a bid to calm myself down.
No, this is actually to our favour. That way, when we do grow in capabilities we will still remain underestimated and therefore with an advantage.
With that thought I had completely calmed down and my mind was now free, or at least as free as I allowed it to be while strolling down the streets of Vancouver dead in the night. Then again, it wasn't like those humans could actually harm me.
I stared up at the night sky breathing in the stuffy yet comforting air around me. Despite it being so late, I could still see people moving about and cars driving at dangerous speeds along the road. My senses dulled slightly as I was reminded how this would probably be the last time I could enjoy this view and I was filled with a sense of melancholy, my vision dimming as my sense of hearing sharpened so I could hear even the tiniest of sound. The loud honk coming from a car along with the blaring sound of a siren in the distance brought me back to my senses. I realized I was standing in front of K-mart, a familiar convenience store I and Avory always came to together.
Thoughts about Avory like how she was, what she would be doing, who she would be with, whether or not she had eaten went through my mind as I stared intently at the glowing neon sign that publicized the name of the store.
"Hey Dan!" I turned around to see Jacob and Lee walking towards me while Veronica ran over to us from across the road.
"Let me guess, last night out?" I muttered a smirk finding its way to my lips as I raised a brow. Jacob huffed pulling up the collar of his thick fur coat around his neck while Lee adjusted it for him. The image of a tiny rabbit retreating into it's burrow flashed through my mind and I couldn't help chuckling.
"Hey guys" Veronica greeted once she got to us eyes staring at me excitedly. I sighed.
My name isn't 'guys' you know....
"Hey" Jacob, Lee and I chorused and silence followed right after, everyone choosing to say nothing as we just strolled further down the brightly lit street.
"Amazing how we never thought anything of this place until right when we are about to lose it" I couldn't help muttering watching as my breath formed some fog in the air before dispersing. I was filled with so many emotions I could different what from what.
Even though I knew we would have to leave some day, I didn't imagine it would be like this, without Avy by our side, but I guess that's just how life's gonna be. Hard with no room for weakness and filled with challenges that could break a man's soul.
"Hey guys" Veronica's voice pulled me out of my thoughts as we continued to stroll. "You think we could pull things off?" She asked voicing my thoughts exactly. Could we really pull anything off at this point?
Jacob sighed and stopped walking making all of us stop as well. I looked down at him and watched as he cupped his hands together blowing into them for a while before speaking.
"Of course we can. Where there is life, there is hope and where there is hope, there is courage. I'm sure Avory's still alive trying to sort out her situation and get back to us, we definitely can't give up until then" Jacob finally looked up from the ground and turned to look me in the eye.
"Besides, there's still one person who's being targeted by God knows how many people and yet still lives by his own rules." He continued and I couldn't help smiling slightly at the thought of Avory coming back with the foolish kid of a Taemoon in tow.
"We definitely can't give up" Jacob muttered finally looking away as he stared straight ahead. I sighed staring ahead as well.
"Definitely"

Third Person POV
Damian arrived at the front of a tall building. 'Hotel Hades' was designed in big, bold calligraphy on a black silk banner that hung high over the gate's arches.
He walked through the gates by-passing the guards that had passed out upon his arrival and went straight into the building. The woman at the reception gasped upon seeing him shock visibly in her expression before composing herself and donning the most sultry smile she could manage.
"Good evening sir, how may I help you?" She questioned in a low, seducing voice that would have any normal guy squirming in his pants. Damian's expression remained unchanged as his beautiful dark eye stared down at the human lady in front of him.
'tch, what a horrible stench'
"Tell your boss to come see me" he answered his monotone voice sending a shiver down the receptionist's spine as she withdrew in instinctive fear.
"W-what-" before she could complete her sentence Damian had already gone through the elevator doors.
The receptionist let out a breath she wasn't aware she had been holding before hitting herself on the head. Way to almost hook yourself up with a serial killer Dorothy. She thought as she kept on smacking herself.
Dorothy sighed as she picked up the telephone to dial her boss' number. 'best to obey the guy so I don't end up dead' she figured.
In a room on the top floor of the hotel, the sound of a telephone rung amidst the sounds of moaning and creaking. The tall fair skinned man on the bed stopped what he was doing earning a whine from the woman beneath him as he went to answer the phone.
"Dorothy, if this isn't important -"
"Mr. Andrew, this guy that looks like a gorgeous serial killer just walked into the hotel telling me to tell you to come see him. You can't allow him take me to use me okay?! I'm too precious and my death would he a huge loss! You have to fight for me yeah? Mr. Andrew-"
"Aish, you talk too much" Lucifer Andrew muttered clicking his tongue as he put down the phone cutting off the call. He sighed as he combed through his hair with his hand gazing at the naked woman on the bed. He picked up a bundle of money from the side table and threw it at her as he picked up his pants and began putting them on.
"Get out of here. I never want to see you again, got it?" He growled at her as he stood up straight now buttoning up his shirt. The woman remained on the bed staring up at the ceiling her eyes dazed before suddenly becoming sharper and tears filled her eyes.
She sat covering her upper half with the duvet as she glared at Andrew.
"Why would you drug me?!" She growled back at him. If looks could kill, Andrew was sure he's be dead. Luckily for him though, between himself and the angry kitten on the bed, he was sure he was the only one with the ability to off the other.
He raised a brow at her question as if to say she should know the answer. The girl's eyes widened in understanding and her entire body began to shake, whether it was from anger or sadness, Andrew did not care.
"Nice to know you're sharp. Unfortunately, you weren't sharp enough and ended up used" he muttered as he sprayed cologne all over himself before picking up his phone and keys as he walked out of the room.
"I'm leaving you now out of pity, but you had better be gone by the time I come back" he added before shutting the door. The girl now alone in the room broke down crying as she curled herself up on the bed.
'those bastards! I'll make sure they fucking pay! I'll make them pay!'
Andrew arrived downstairs and was immediately hounded by Dorothy. "You sold me out didn't you?" He muttered with a sigh as he rubbed his head. Dorothy pouted folding her arms, "of course I did. I'm a mere receptionist with no power" she huffed and Andrew sighed.
'the things I do for her'
"So, where is he?" He asked and Dorothy shrugged as she walked back to her table. "Don't know, he went into the elevator " she answered. Andrew's eyes widened in understanding as he nodded turning around to walk into the elevator then he stopped and turned around with an ominous expression on his face.
"Dorothy, don't tell me you flirted with the guy" he stated in a questioning tone, Dorothy huffed . "Then I won't" she retorted making Andrew sigh deeply.
'ahh, what a hassle'
