AFTER 7 YEARS—
ELOISE POV—
It's been 11 years since I have reincarnated in the Marvel. My life is pretty much good here. I have parents who love me, a familiar and did I tell you that I am mage.
'Oi, Master, are you even listening to me?' said Liam.
'Go to hell! Liam, you fucking cat! You just interrupted my inner dialogue.'
Honestly, after all these years, this cat still interrupts my monologue. Liam smirked and said, 'You have tendency to talk to yourself, don't you? I have heard talking to yourself is a sign of being alone and trust me, you are alone.' He finished what he said with a tone of finality.
'I am not alone and being alone is not a bad thing. I like being alone. But don't I have you, my mom and dad, Jarvis, Peggy and her entourage as my companions.'
Liam said, 'No! I am talking about friends of your age and don't give me that nonsense of adult trapped in a child's body. You are physically a child and your brain is also a one of a child,' he sighed, 'ok, let's start our training.'
I nodded and signalled him to carry on. Currently, we are at the secret location of our garden. It's our training spot.
Liam said, 'Until know, we have been training physically. You have learnt how to use the sword. Do you have any questions?'
I asked, 'Shouldn't you tell me how to use the techniques? Just swinging the sword is not enough. You should teach me some cool moves. I want to cut mountains, create tsunamis in the ocean, destroy buildings with a sword.'
Liam gave me a blank look and said, 'Eloise, you are not a knight. You are a sorcerer. I am not trying to make you into a sword's expert. I am trying to make you use your Cynosure Energy with the help of the sword. Think the sword as the part of your body. Use the sword to defend and fight, you are not learning to not make some moves with it. It will be useless. You want to incorporate the sword techniques into your armour, not incorporate the armour into our sword. Understood?'
I nodded and said, 'Yes, I know that.'
Liam said, 'Ok, listen to me Eloise. Today is your final lesson,' when I heard about the final lesson, I wanted to say something but kept quiet, 'and trust me this is the most important one of all the lessons that I have given you so far.'
'As I have said before, you are a sorcerer. Mages and Sorcerers are similar but overall, they are different from each other. A mage uses his/her magic to fight in an orderly manner. This means a mage uses magic to cast spells to fight. He/she fights with the help of magic. Whereas, a sorcerer fights and uses the magic to fight. Mages are dependent on magic but sorcerers are not. They use of magic is in a small range but with huge magnitude. It's like 10 missiles vs. one atom bomb. Both are used in the same area but they show different results. Being a sorcerer is more advantageous to you than being a mage. If you were a mage, I could teach you the sword techniques that I have learnt from my ancestors but its's useless for you as you are a sorcerer.'
So, it's useless for me to learn the sword moves. I said, 'I am kind of sad. It would have been so cooler for me to use those techniques. Liam, one thing I have never asked you the Cynosure Energy. What is that and how's that different from mana?'
'Yes, Eloise. I know that I have never told you about the Cynosure Energy. So, I am going to tell you about that now, as you were not ready at that time. Cynosure Energy is not some type of energy. It's the collective word to describe the form for all the energies that living beings could direct. They could direct it to fight, to eat, to travel and to do whatever they want. This may be in the form of mana, aura, abilities, etc. Eloise, you are using the Cynosure Energy in the form of both mana and aura. Eloise, use the healing spell on this dead plant that I taught you to use.'
I nodded and raised my hand saying, 'From sun to moon and from water to fire, the calming effect that I only desire. I cast the spell Heal.' A small array got projected in front of my hand and the dead plant got alive again.
Liam said, 'Did you see that, Eloise? That's mana, you are using mana to cast the spells and sorcerers don't use that.'
'But if I am a sorcerer than why am I even using mana?'
Liam smiled and said, 'You tell me yourself, Eloise. You are my master as well as a certified genius. Tell me your thoughts on this.'
I said, 'It's because sorcerers could use mana but they don't because it's not effective. As you said Cynosure Energy is the representation of the collection of the different forms of energy, then that means they are using the other forms. There are many different forms... it may be derived from the one itself, it may be even derived from other living being, it may be also be derived from in between the dimensions like Dr Strange can, and I don't even know what are the ways through which we can derive it.'
Liam gave me a look of confusion. 'Ok, you are...correct, I think. Though I don't about the dimension thingy and who the hell even is Dr strange.'
Come to think of it, Liam should know about Kamar-Taj and the Ancient one.
I asked, 'Liam, do you know about the Kamar-Taj and the Ancient one?'
'No, who are they?'
Wait, what! How come Liam don't know them? I said, 'What! How can you not know about them? Liam, don't tell me your plane of existence is different from ours?'
