The gate bars creaked as the guards pushed it open for Ace as soon as Lia had come to fetch him from the underground prison.
"Sure you don't want me to come with you?" Nia pouted in despair, but it was all for other reasons.
She didn't want Ace to stay all alone with the elf princess as she had deemed her as a potential threat to her future with Ace. After all, the princess was an alluring girl any guy would crumble after.
"No, it's safer if you guys stay together." Ace replied.
Luci made an attempt to talk, but she kept quiet at Ace's reply to Nia's offer. Armin gave Ace a slight nod as if they had been communicating telepathically and the outcome of the meeting with the princess would determine what phase they fall into next.
"Be careful." Dawn said to him, her voice low, but full of hope.
