"How? Where are you? Why did you..."
"Dad. I don't have time. Listen to me carefully and do what I ask you to do" Bethany interrupted her father mid-sentence and quickly explained what to do.
Antonio, listening to her request, frowned more and more until he finally grabbed the bridge of his nose.
"Bethany..."
The man didn't know what to say to all this.
His daughter wasn't as smart as he imagined her to be.
Instead of taking care of the company and learning what to do to make it prosper, she had only one thing on her mind.
Destroy Sophie.
Antonio couldn't understand why his daughter couldn't enjoy what she had gained. Instead, she was chasing something she couldn't get, throwing all his hard work down the drain.
"Daddy...Please. Do this for me one last time" Bethany's pleading voice made Antonio sigh heavily and agree to the request.
"I'm hungry" Luka said quietly standing by the door, seeing that his father had finished talking. Antonio looked at the boy angrily.
"You're always hungry. Can't you wait a moment? We just got in and you're already complaining" He snapped at his son, getting up from the couch.
He felt hungry himself, so he decided to order something to eat.
When he reached the door, he didn't expect the door to open before he could grab the handle.
Surprised, he stopped dead in his tracks when he saw Anton's meanancing expression, who punched him in the face when their eyes met.
Unprepared for the attack, Antonio fell backwards, frightening Luka.
The boy watched in horror as the strange man hit his father and went inside.
Right after him, a woman entered the room, looking around the room in a hurry.
Sophie ignored the man groaning on the ground. She wanted to check on her little brother as soon as possible.
Seeing him peeking out from behind the door, terrified, her heart started to beat faster.
"Luka!"
Without wasting time, she ran up to her brother and hugged him tightly.
The boy, visibly surprised, needed a moment to process the information.
When it finally dawned on him that he was hugging his longed-for sister, the boy was unable to hold back his tears.
"Sister!" Hugging her tightly, he began to cry loudly. "You found me. Finally, hick, you found me."
While crying, he was happy. His sister had finally found him and he could stay with her.
Sobbing his heart out, Sophie took him on her lap and held him close, stroking his back.
At the same time, Anton closed the door to the room and sat down on the chair in front of Antonio, who was holding his bleeding nose.
"What are you doing here?" He asked angrily through clenched teeth.
"We came for our little brother, can't you see?" Anton replied, still glaring at the man.
"I have to admit, old man, you know how to run. Thanks to you, I lost three days without my partner. How are you going to make up for it? Hmm?" His face was too serious for Antonio to take it as a joke.
"I didn't tell you to run after me. Why should I pay you back?" He snorted as he stood up from the ground, but Anton kicked him in the chest and the man landed on the ground again.
"Do you really think I'd chase someone like you? We came for Luka. You should have left him and taken care of your burning ass," He growled menacingly, standing over the man.
If it weren't for the fact that the boy was in the room with them, he would have dealt with him in his own way a long time ago.
Giving him another kick to make sure he wouldn't want to run away, he approached Sophie.
Kneeling down on one knee by the two, he ruffled Luka's head, who slowly began to calm down.
"Hey kid. I'm Anton, Sophie's brother. We have the same mother, so we're brothers. Nice to meet you" Anton smiled at Luka, who at his words widened his eyes and looked from Sophie to Anton.
"I have an older brother?" With joy in his tearful eyes, he asked his sister, who also began to smile at him.
"That's right. As you can see, no one can stand up to him. He's a great brother." Sophie, full of joy, ruffled Anton's head just like he did to Luka.
The siblings laughed, happy that they were finally together.
Anton took Luka in his arms, who was staring at him like a picture.
"You're skinny. I'll make sure you grow up to be as strong as me."
Luka smiled at these words and without hesitation, he put his arms around his older brother's neck, snuggling up to him.
Anton's eyes softened, feeling warmth in his heart. He had just gained another brother.
A small, charming brother.
A certain thought quickly began to form in his head. He would have to talk to Noah about it when he got back.
But there was no time for that now. After a moment of joy, it was time to deal with someone lying on the floor.
Sophie, looking at Antonio groaning in pain, frowned.
"I'm taking Luka with me. I advise you to hide somewhere far away and never show your face to me again. I don't want Luka to have bad memories of you. Although I don't know if that's still possible" She said coldly to the man.
"Wait! Don't leave me here. If Mariano's men find me, I'm gone. Their target is Luka. If you take him with you, you'll be their next target" Antonio, sitting on the ground with a grimace on his face, warned the siblings who weren't bothered by the warning.
"Do you think someone as insignificant as your brother will be able to do anything to us?" Anton snorted, shaking his head. "Let me show you how I deal with such minor problems" Saying this, he pulled out his phone and switched to a speakerphone.
"Yes, boss?" One of the twins answered the phone.
"Mariano Forzani. Antonio's brother. Empty his accounts. Don't leave a penny. If you hurry, you can take five percent of the cash. Zick can help you, and tell her we found Luca," Anton ordered without breaking his gaze with Antonio.
"On it boss"
The sounds of clicking on a keyboard could be heard on the phone. Sophie watched Luca, who was staring at his badass brother in awe.
