"Are you crazy?!" Furious Sophie wanted to tear him apart. The man lay down next to her and closed his eyes.
"Stay" He asked gently this time, calming her down a bit.
She didn't want to waste her strength on pointless arguments with an idiot. She got up and started rummaging through his closet. Darell turned his head towards her and silently watched her actions. She finally found a T-shirt and changed into it without hesitation, putting her outfit aside so that it wouldn't get crumpled. She wasn't a short woman, but his undershirt barely reached above her knees. She nestled under the blanket next to Darell, turning her back to him. The presence of the woman had a strange way of calming him down. When they were rivals, he hated her. But now that they were on the same side, it was different. Trying to understand the reason for his calmness lying next to her, he slowly fell asleep.
He woke up before Sophie and watched her carefully. She looked incredibly sexy lying next to him in his T-shirt. Her long, smooth legs clutched a piece of the blanket. She was beautiful. He couldn't understand what an idiot Anthony had to be, to leave her for such an average woman. Looks, intelligence, determination, independence, she had it all. They will find out what they have lost when it is too late. Knowing that she had a tiring day ahead of her today, he gently moved her arm.
"Sophie... You should get up now" He purred seductively into her ear.
"Hmmm" She rolled over to face him and slowly opened her eyes. Seeing Darell so close to her, she instinctively moved away, contorting her face.
"What time is it?" She asked quietly.
"Half past four. You need to go back to your place and change. You have important meetings today" He supported his head with his hand, looking incredibly handsome.
"Whatever you say" She snapped at him with irritation on her face. She stood up quickly, stretched, standing on her tiptoes and stretching her arms up, and then quickly changed into her clothes from yesterday.
"See you later... boss" She said coldly behind her, leaving the apartment.
"Let's see what you can do when you are not limited by limits" He smiled dangerously. Sophie returned to the apartment, took a shower and put on light makeup. She had to look good in front of the customers today. She chose appropriate clothes, ate breakfast and wasted no time returning to the company, straight to her office. Everything was ready for today's meetings. Sophie was in the mood to fight for everything. They will win all the clients, there is no question of failure.
Highly motivated, she thought about every possible situation that could arise. Co-workers started arriving earlier. All ready for conquest, led by Diana. Sophie decided to take her with her to the meetings to see what it all looked like. They took the necessary documents with them and went to war.
The first meeting went very smoothly. The benefits offered were very tempting and the profits were high. Anyone with common sense knew that such a chance would not come again. Sophie moved through meetings like a tank, gaining more and more trust and respect among her employees without even realizing it.
"Sophie, you're amazing" Diana stared at her and handed her a wrapped sandwich. They were on their way to another meeting and had some time to grab a bite to eat. The woman looked at the delighted girl with a slight smile.
"I hope you absorb my teachings. I would like to see you at meetings soon as a presenter" She encouraged. The girl covered her mouth with her hands and started moving happily on the seat.
"Really? Do you think I'll ever be like you?" She asked delightedly, without stopping the joyful dance.
"Of course. If you only learn to focus on the most important points and do not give up easily after failure, each of you can be very good at what you do. Our entire department is well qualified. Once we learn to use our skills fluently, no one will be able to stop us" She said confidently. They went to the next meeting even more determined.
The day passed very quickly. Returning to the office, they noticed that no one had gone home yet. Everyone waited patiently for news of the meetings. Of course, Diana couldn't stand it and threw her arms up and screamed in victory.
"We're on top! Nobody can beat us! We crushed the competition! Yeah!" Hearing this, everyone started applauding and patting each other on the back.
"My fellows, the first day is behind us. We are really strong, but we cannot rest on our laurels. There are still two days of meetings left and another two days to finalize everything. We will show that the Pilsario company is second to none" Sophie looked at the people looking at her with admiration. She had no idea how she managed to get people to like her in such a short time. Several people briefed her on tomorrow's meetings and the documents they would need, and then they went home. As usual, Sophie stayed to check everything carefully. After this week, they will be able to slow down and work with less stress.
Tired from a hard but successful day, she returned home. First she took a long, hot bath and then ordered something to eat. She didn't feel like cooking today. She wanted to sit back and relax in front of the TV. She didn't do it often, but apart from the shooting range where she vented her accumulated rage, she also liked to watch something cool to relax. Around 10 p.m. she dragged herself to bed and tucked herself under the blankets. She was starting to fall asleep when her phone started ringing. She answered, half asleep.
"I'm listening" She mumbled.
"How did you do today? Why didn't I get a report on today's meetings?" Irritated voice asked dissatisfied.
"Oh, it's you..." She turned on her other side. "How can I surprise you with my skills when I report everything to you every day. You'll find out in two days" She purred, slowly falling asleep.
"I don't like the lack of information. I won't wait two days" He threatened, but Sophie didn't care.
"This is not the time to talk about it. Come back to bed before you turn into an ogre again" She didn't even know what she was saying as she drifted off.
"I take it you're inviting me to your bed, right?" The tone of his voice changed.
"Ymhm" You could hear her calm breathing. The woman fell asleep, not knowing what she had just done.
"Noah! Go home, that's it for today" He quickly informed his surprised assistant and left the office. A moment later he was in her apartment. He took a quick shower and, wearing only his boxers, slowly slipped under the blanket, next to the sleeping Sophie. He turned his back to her so that she wouldn't have a reason to kill him when she woke up and saw him next to her again. However, he did not suspect that the woman would turn towards him and wrap her arm around him, nuzzling into his broad back. Darell, surprised by this position, took her hand in his and fell asleep in the blink of an eye. The night passed quickly. Maybe even too fast.
When Sophie woke up, she noticed that she was hugging someone. She started blinking in confusion, not even knowing where she was. She looked around, recognizing her room but who was... She closed her eyes again, knowing who the burglar was. Her hand that was hugging him from the front went to his throat. She squeezed him lightly, leaning closer to his ear.
"Do you know what I do with burglars?" She threatened quietly.
"I don't know what you mean. You invited me" He purred lowly, taking the hand that was squeezing his neck in his.
"What? What are you talking about?" She was surprised, looking into his laughing black eyes.
"Do you remember our conversation yesterday?" He raised an eyebrow, looking into her lost, charming green eyes. "You invited me to your bed, so here I am" He shrugged.
Looking at him suspiciously, she didn't know whether the man was making something up or telling the truth. But she knew she didn't have time to banter with him. She had to prepare for today's meetings. She got out of bed and went into the bathroom to get ready. As Sophie was leaving, she noticed Darell sitting in the kitchen, obviously waiting for something. She accepted her fate and made them a quick breakfast, which they ate in silence. They left the apartment together and went towards the company.
"So Will I find out how you did yesterday?" He asked, walking right next to the thoughtful Sophie.
"You'll find out in two days" She muttered, reluctant to talk.
"You know you said the same thing yesterday?" He got irritated hearing the same thing for the second time.
"I'm on my way to kick my father's ass. If any problems occur, you will be the first to know about them. The lack of response from me means that everything is going according to plan" She looked at the dissatisfied face of the man who was trying to digest her statement.
"Don't let me down" He threatened as they entered the company.
