Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 Schools and Planning

Hey there, fellow readers! So, you might have noticed that I've made some tweaks in this chapter—our MC's name got a little upgrade from Lei Zhe to Johan! I mean, let's be real, "Johan" just has that cool, international ring to it, like someone who's ready to take on the world… or maybe just a few video games. 😎

Now, back to the story—because Johan's about to get serious (or not so serious, depending on his mood). Enjoy! 😜

Johan and Miyuki walked into the school, amidst the weird looks of most students and the gloating looks of some.

Johan was no longer the same person he used to be. Naturally, he was more sensitive to other people's gazes, and he also remembered those who looked at him with gloating expressions.

He and his father both disliked the school atmosphere in Japan, so although he had excellent grades, he was a loner and had few friends. Naturally, these students had found out about what happened at home.

Johan had also encountered situations where people gathered together to bully others at school, but his personality was the same as in his previous life. He wouldn't tolerate such people and always fought back fiercely.

For example, if someone made his indoor shoes dirty or deliberately tampered with his desk, Johan's retaliation would be ruthless. He would directly drag the person into the bathroom, press their head into the toilet, force them to eat rice, and then take humiliating photos.

If anyone dared to use outside forces to cause trouble for Johan, he and his father could also use their financial connections to show the other party what true power was.

Johan wouldn't go too far with guys who behaved badly but would use just enough force to socially ruin them.

In Japan, his father taught him never to show weakness when facing bullies. Those who only know small courtesy but no great virtue will only respect you once you show them real pain.

Johan's father, Tenma , had said this, and after Johan personally experienced it before his memory was awakened, he completely understood this truth.

When someone crosses the line, you must make them pay the price.

"It's a familiar place, but after my memory awakened, I seem to have lost that youthful perspective," Johan muttered as he arrived at his front-row seat by the window. Without looking at the surrounding scene where students gathered in their small groups before class, he gazed out the window, sighing to himself.

Who doesn't long for their youth? That time is long gone and can never return. Now that Johan had matured, high school in Japan felt novel, but it didn't stir any of the restlessness it once might have.

The person he was now could no longer go back.

He had suffered a disaster, and his soul was in pain. Even if his memories of his past life hadn't resurfaced, his wounded heart would likely never be the same.

As Johan stared out the window in a daze, a female classmate sitting in front of him approached his seat.

She was one of the few friends Johan had in the school—Miura Yumiko, a beautiful girl with blonde hair and regular features.

"Good morning, Johan-kun. How's your injury?"

Miura Yumiko sat in front of Johan, greeting him with a familiar tone. "You look down."

"Good morning," Johan replied, acknowledging the class's popular queen with polite restraint. "I've been trying to relax lately. You'd know what's going on if you asked around."

Johan and Miura Yumiko were friends in class. Yumiko was one of the top girls in the school. Although she could be tough at times, Johan knew she cared deeply about her friends, and her heart wasn't as strong as she made it seem.

Yumiko had also asked Johan, the top student in class, to tutor her on several occasions. Thanks to Johan's help, she had kept up with her studies and remained among the top students.

Though there were rumors that Johan was antisocial or even delinquent, Yumiko disdained such gossip. "If you're a delinquent, try being the top student in the class," she would scoff. Johan was cold, but he was still someone you could talk to.

Yumiko learned from her social circle that Johan only retaliated against those who tried to bully him. The people he taught a lesson to would only whisper behind his back, too afraid to confront him directly.

Miura Yumiko found those boys pathetic. To repay Johan for helping her with her studies, she made sure that no negative rumors about him circulated among the girls in school.

As for the boys who tried to tarnish his reputation, Yumiko made sure they'd never have a shot at a relationship during high school. In the girls' circles, this amounted to social death.

"It's terrible you had to go through that, but I hope you can cheer up," Miura Yumiko said softly, aware of the tragedy that had struck Johan's family—a ghoul attack had taken the lives of his family members, leaving only him alive.

"If something like that happened to me, I'm not sure I'd handle it any better," she added earnestly.

"Thanks. Your encouragement helps more than you think," Johan replied with a smile. He genuinely appreciated those who cared about him and regarded them as true friends.

Johan was handsome and well-liked in the class for his looks, but now, having grown stronger through playing games, his skin had become smoother and his appearance had improved. His new warmth made him resemble Minato Namikaze from Naruto. Miura Yumiko's cheeks flushed slightly at the sight of his smile.

Embarrassed, she turned around to hide her reaction.

"Since when did a cold guy like you become so smooth-talking?" she muttered, still facing away from him.

Johan shrugged, amused but unfazed by her reaction. In the past, the quieter version of himself might not have said such things, but he had changed inside and out.

"How am I being glib? I'm just telling the truth. Compared to a loner like me, you're the queen of popularity," Johan teased.

"Shut up! Stop calling me that," Yumiko snapped, clearly embarrassed. "You've definitely changed, Johan-kun. You were never this friendly or chatty before."

Johan's transformation, in both personality and temperament, had surprised Yumiko, but she found it refreshing. Although she didn't believe his joke about past life memories, she could tell he wasn't the same person he used to be.
