One year after Rain became an S-Class Mage, he was hailed as a living legend. The youngest mage to ever achieve S-Class status, Rain completed a 10-year quest—an incredible feat that earned him recognition across the continent. He was not only celebrated as the youngest S-Class Mage but also for his immense power, which was said to rival that of a Ten-Saint Mage. His feats spread like wildfire, making his name known far and wide.
POV: The Magical Council...
In a dimly lit room, the members of the council sat around a large table, their faces grim.
"So it's true," Lord Yazima said in a low voice, his eyes flicking to the other council members. "Serena has abandoned our continent and joined Alvarez?"
One council member, visibly shaken, slammed his fist onto the table, his face filled with disbelief. "It can't be. One of our most powerful fighters, the very symbol of our strength... betrayed us."
Yazima looked out the large window of the council chamber, his expression unreadable. "We can't let this information leak to the public. The people must not know that one of our strongest has turned against us. We need to act swiftly and select a new Ten Saint to take Serena's place."
Another member, who had been quietly listening, nodded. "I have a suggestion. Rain of Fairy Tail. He's demonstrated power beyond even what we expected. His abilities could rival Serena's, and his record on every mission is flawless."
"An interesting choice," Yazima said. "But we can't just hand over such an important title without ensuring his worth. We need to test him first."
He turned to a messenger in the corner. "Bring one of the Ten Saints here immediately. It's time to test this Rain."
The messenger nodded quickly and hurried out of the room.
Another council member turned to a second messenger. "Inform Makarov of Fairy Tail. Tell him we are summoning Rain to the council. He and Rain must come at once."
"Understood," the second messenger replied, leaving the room as well.
POV: Fairy Tail Guild
The guild was bustling with activity, the sounds of laughter and chatter filling the air. Suddenly, the door swung open, and a frog-like figure in white robes entered, his voice clear and formal.
"Excuse the interruption. Is Master Makarov and Rain present?"
Makarov, sitting at the bar with a drink in his hand, glanced up. "We're here. What is it?"
The frog messenger bowed deeply. "The Magical Council has sent for you both. You are to come to the council headquarters in two days."
Makarov exchanged a glance with Rain, who stood nearby, his expression neutral. "We'll be there. No need to worry."
The messenger bowed again before exiting the guild. The guild members whispered among themselves, curiosity piqued by the sudden summons.
"Master, what's this about?" one of the guild members asked.
Makarov leaned back in his chair. "It seems the council has a new request for Rain. We'll find out more when we get there."
Rain, ever the quiet and focused mage, spoke up. "We should prepare, Master. The journey will take time."
Makarov nodded. "Indeed. We leave tomorrow."
Two Days Later
Makarov and Rain stood before the grand entrance of the Magical Council headquarters, its imposing structure casting long shadows over the ground. The air was thick with a sense of expectation.
"Master, do you have any idea why we've been invited?" Rain asked, his voice calm, but there was a hint of curiosity in his tone.
Makarov shook his head. "No, Rain, but I'm sure we'll learn soon enough. Let's head inside."
The two were escorted through the enormous corridors, eventually arriving at the council chamber. There, all the council members were waiting, seated around a large circular table. And off to the side stood Joseph, one of the most powerful Ten Saints.
"Master Makarov, Rain," Yazima greeted, nodding his head. "Thank you for accepting our invitation."
Makarov raised an eyebrow. "It's rare for a Ten Saint to be personally invited. Something must have happened."
Yazima looked at him, his expression grim. "Indeed, something has happened. Serena has betrayed us, and we need to find a replacement for him. That's where you come in, Rain."
Rain stood tall, a quiet confidence radiating from him. "You want me to replace Serena as a Ten Saint?"
"Yes," Yazima confirmed. "But before I can make you one of the Ten Saints, we need to test your abilities. That's why Joseph is here today. He will put you to the test."
Rain turned his gaze to Joseph, who stood there with an arrogant smile, his arms crossed. "So, you think you can handle a Ten Saint test, huh?" Joseph said, his voice dripping with disdain. "Let's see if you can even survive my first attack."
Rain simply smirked. "I think you're the one who's going to have a problem."
The Test Fight
As the test began, Joseph immediately summoned his magic, causing the arena to shift and change, walls of energy rising around them. The atmosphere grew charged with power.
"You may be strong, but you're no match for me," Joseph sneered, raising both hands as arcs of Dark Enegry crackled around him. Without warning, he unleashed a blast of Dark Magic that shot straight toward Rain.
But Rain didn't flinch. He raised his hand, and in an instant, his own magical aura exploded outward, forming a barrier that absorbed the Dark Energy, the energy crackling harmlessly around him.
Joseph's eyes widened. "What—how?"
Before Joseph could react, Rain closed the distance between them in a single, fluid movement, his fist glowing with raw magic. He struck with incredible force, sending Joseph hurtling backward, his body crashing into the arena floor with a thunderous impact.
The council members gasped in shock. "That power... It's like Serena's," one of them whispered. "Is he really this strong?"
Rain stood still, his expression unchanged. "Who's the weakling now, Joseph?"
Joseph struggled to stand, blood dripping from the corner of his mouth. His pride was shattered, but he refused to admit defeat. "You... You're a monster."
Rain didn't respond. Instead, he turned to the council members, his voice cool and confident. "I think I've proven myself. I am the best candidate for the position of Ten Saint."
Yazima, his expression now one of approval, nodded slowly. "You're right. Welcome, Lord Rain, to the ranks of the Ten Saints."
Without another word, Rain activated his teleportation magic and vanished in an instant, leaving the council chamber in stunned silence.
Aftermath
Back at the Fairy Tail guild, Makarov watched with a quiet smile as Rain entered the room, the guild members all staring at him with awe.
"Rain... you've done it," Makarov said, his voice filled with pride. "You've officially become one of the Ten Saints."
The guild members erupted into applause, their cheers echoing through the hall. Rain, however, remained quiet, his focus already shifting to the next challenge.
"Seems like we'll need to step up our game," Gray said, his grin wide as he slapped Natsu on the back.
"Yeah, with Rain on top, we'll be unstoppable!" Natsu added, his usual fiery enthusiasm lighting up the room.
