Existence and Aura walked side by side on a path glowing faintly under the cosmic sky. They hadn't spoken much since leaving Lucifer's domain. The silence between them felt heavy, like a storm waiting to break.
Finally, Aura spoke up, her voice soft but filled with worry. "Do you think we'll ever get him back, Existence?"
Existence glanced at her, his face serious. "I don't know, Aura. He's changed. It's like he doesn't even want to hear us anymore."
"He's our brother," she said, almost pleading. "We can't just give up on him."
"I'm not giving up," Existence replied, his tone firmer now. "But we need to be prepared. If he keeps going down this path... we might have to stop him."
Aura stopped walking and stared at him, her eyes wide. "Stop him? What do you mean by that?"
He sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "I don't mean fighting him, not unless we have no choice. But if he threatens the balance the Creator asked us to protect, we'll have to act."
Aura looked down, her shoulders sagging. "I wish things could go back to how they were. When we were all... happy."
"So do I," Existence said quietly.
As they retreat to their realms, Existence felt something odd in the surrounding. It was as if invisible eyes were watching them. There was a strange, quiet feeling around them, like a whisper from something ancient. He stopped, looking around, feeling uneasy.
Aura glanced at him, her eyes wide. "Do you feel that too? It's like… something big is watching us."
Before he could answer, a deep voice echoed through the stillness. It seemed to come from everywhere at once, powerful and mysterious.
"The Watchers have seen. The balance is shifting."
Existence with a little smile on his face. "The Watchers. I thought you guys dont speak! —silent guardians who watched over creation without getting involved. But now, you guys are awake after all this eons.
In a flash, BOOOOOOM! a bright light exploded in front of them. when the light faded two figures stood before them. One glowed faintly, their form shimmering like a misty flame. The other was darker, almost blending into the shadows around them, but their presence was no less powerful.
"The Watchers! " Existence called, stepping protectively in front of Aura.
The glowing figure spoke first, their voice calm but commanding. "We are the Watchers, Guardians of the Veil."
"Guardians of the what?" Aura asked, her voice laced with curiosity and caution.
"The Veil," the darker figure replied, their tone deeper, almost like a growl. "It is the barrier that separates the realms of existence. We protect it."
Existence frowned. "Why are you here after all these ages? What do you want with us?"
The glowing one looked at him, their gaze piercing. "The Veil is weakening. Shadows from beyond it stir, seeking to break through. We were sent to warn you."
"Warn us about what?" Aura asked, her voice trembling slightly.
The darker figure stepped closer, their movements slow and deliberate. "Your brother. Lucifer. His actions are drawing attention from... things that should not see this realm."
"What things?" Existence demanded, his fists clenching.
The glowing figure sighed, as though the explanation weighed heavily on them. "Beings from beyond the Creator's design. Forces that exist in the spaces between light and darkness. If Lucifer continues, he will tear the Veil and let them in."
Aura looked at Existence, fear in her eyes. "What do we do?"
"You must stop him," the darker figure said bluntly. "Before it's too late."
Existence took a deep breath, his mind racing. "We've tried. He won't listen to us."
"Then you must make him listen," the glowing one said firmly. "The balance of the entire universe depends on it."
"Why us?" Aura asked, her voice breaking slightly. "Why does it always have to be us?"
"Because you are the first creations," the glowing figure replied. "You are tied to everything that exists. If you fail, all will fall."
Existence exchanged a glance with Aura, then turned back to the Guardians. "If the Veil breaks, what happens?"
The darker figure's voice dropped, heavy with warning. "The chaos beyond will consume everything. The light, the dark, all of creation... gone."
For a moment, neither Existence nor Aura spoke. The weight of the warning pressed down on them like a crushing wave.
"We'll try," Existence said finally, his voice steady. "But if Lucifer refuses to stop... what then?"
The glowing one hesitated, their light flickering slightly. "Then you must be ready to face him. Whatever it takes."
Aura's eyes widened. "You're saying we might have to fight him?"
The darker figure nodded. "If that is what it takes to protect the balance."
Existence felt his chest tighten. The thought of standing against his own brother was unbearable, but the fate of the universe left no room for hesitation. He nodded slowly. "We'll do what we have to."
The glowing figure stepped back, their form starting to fade. "Then go. Time is running out."
"Wait," Aura called. "Is there any other way? Anything else we can do?"
The darker figure paused, their shadowy form rippling. "Pray that Lucifer finds his way back... before it's too late."
With that, the two figures vanished, leaving Existence and Aura alone once more.
Aura turned to Existence, her eyes with sadness. "Do you think we can save him?"
Existence looked at the path ahead, his expression hardening. "I don't know. But we have to try."
