Chapter 90 - 90. Evil Gods

The sky is covered in dark storm clouds that have blocked the moonlight and starlight from illuminating the ground below. Rain and the wolf pack waited in the forest for the rain to start a downpour. Rain cannot believe his luck, the rain and the darkness around have won him the battle with the slavers.

Now the slavers cannot spot him, rain extinguished the fire torch around the camp, and without the light of the moon and stars the surroundings were without any light. Rain while waiting compares the alchemist's way to the way of genetic warriors of the Radiation world and the warrior's way of the Star immortal world.

He felt the alchemist's way was weaker than the other two, But the Alchemist's way practiced method up to God realm corresponding to the Immortal realm of the Star immortal world. He was disappointed when he was not able to practice the immortal way as the practice method leads one to become immortal.

So the Alchemist way may look weaker now because there is no extraordinary energy permeating the Alchemist world like the radiation energy in the Radiation world and Spiritual energy in the Star immortal world. May in the later realm it makes up for the lack of combat power.

Rain seeing the downpour start, thought now it the time to enter the camp, finish all the slavers, and rescue his friend. Rain looked at the wolf and what to do with them and thought if they ran around the camp while howling it would create an atmosphere of terror and the slavers may feel their impending doom is coming.

Rain wanted to torture the slavers before he ended them. From Glenn's memory, he has seen how the slavers after capturing him treated him which made his blood boil. So he sends the plan to the mind of the wolf Pack. And Alpha wolf growls in response agreeing with him.

The wolves left the forest and circled the camp while howling, and Rain started walking to the camp. The outer area of the camp is carriages joined together, making a makeshift wall for the camp. Before he enters the camp, Rain's soul power covers the entire camp. First, he checks where his friends are kept, and he finds them at the center of the camp. He also checks where the slavers are, and he finds all of the different tents sheltering from the downpour.

Rain through his soul power spreads to the mind of everyone inside the camp, ' for them to fall in deep sleep.' a minute later, the camp fell asleep except one, the boss of the slavers, Rain noticed the vitality of the boss exceed a vitality of average human but did not reach the extraordinary realm.

Rain thought the boss of the slavers may be one of the three professions of the human race. Every race in this world with Gods behind them has professions that allow ordinary people to become extraordinary and professions are created by the power of the Gods. Rain from Glenn's memory learned about the three professions of the Tree-Spirit race and four professions of the Human race.

The three professions of the Tree-Spirit race are- The first is called Tree Priest their ability includes healing and making potions. The second is called Life Spirit Guard they are a melee-type profession with the ability to manipulate life and wood elements. The third is called Changers they are somehow similar to druids they can take the shape of different animals. Glenn's mother's profession is a Changer.

The Four professions of the Human race are- The first is called Fire Sacrifice which includes healing and manipulation of fire elements. The second is called the Lux Guard similar to the Life Spirit Guard but they manipulate light elements. The third is called Blaze Pheonix Lancer they are cavalry professionals with the ability to manipulate both fire and light elements. The fourth is called Knight an all-round combat type profession.

Rain thinks the Boss of the slavers is a Knight. Knight are common profession of the human race with the least requirement of faith to the God of Fire and Light. Rain from Glenn's memory finds the first three realms of the knight- awakening knight, Knight, and Power Knight.

But Rain is not worried as he still is an awakening knight. Awakening Knights obtained power from the god of fire and light and they are only a little bit stronger than the average human and still not extraordinary. But let's kill the rest of the slavers first then confront him. He did not want to confront him first because their fight may awaken all the sleeping and then all of them besiege him, with his soul power it would not be a problem for him as they would be in the range of his soul power but it would increase the risk for him.

Rain then entered the tents with the slavers and killed them by severing their throats. Rain watched as the slavers awake after Rain severed their neck with eyes confused as to what happened. After the realization came Rain watched as they tried to stop the blood from pouring out but they could not do anything and slowly in despair felt their life slip from their fingers.

Rain kills all the slavers and only the boss of the slavers left and starts to walk on the muddy ground with a downpour falling all around and the howling of the wolves toward the final tent. Rain thought the wolves were not required anymore and sent them a message telling them to leave. With a final howl from the Alpha, the wolves's howling faded.

The final tent is beside a tent where his friends are kept. Rain did not go to check his friends and others captured with his soul power, he sensed them and their sleeping because of him. Rain senses the boss of the slavers waiting for him, he does not even move from the spot where he was when Rain enter the camp.

Rain removes the super-healing lizard illusion over himself and casts a black gas surrounding him hiding his figure. Rain's soul power to hypnotize is not effective against him. Rain thought because his hypnotize was the crudest and low-level method.

So he will have to fight the boss. From the boss's vitality, he senses he is physically stronger than him. But Rain is confident with his master-level sword skill he will defeat the Boss of the slavers. And end his miserable life.

Rain senses the Boss is moving and starts to walk out of the tent. Rain waited and watched the boss of the slavers get out of his tent and stand facing him.

Boss of the Slavers shouted as the downpour muffled the sound," Alchemist I was waiting for you."

Rain thought the Boss correctly identified me as an alchemist and thought he being an awakening knight may be familiar with the abilities of the Alchemist.

When Rain did not reply, The Boss continued, "I am Vale. You may have attacked us because of the half-tree spirit we have captured. I will not stop you from taking them. I am a member Lockwood family a novel family from the Kindom of Lakes. If you let me go after I reach my home, I will pay you handsomely."

Rain felt pointless to answer and attack Vale. Vale defended Rain's sword strike. Vale," We do not have to fight. Your anger must have already cooled off, I let you kill all my team members. And you are an alchemist your strength is less than mine." with that he pushed Rain's sword back proving his point.

Rain feeling the strength of Vale, sighs in relief, that he can take him down and attack relentlessly. Vale only can defend against even with his superior strength is meaningless in front of Rain's sword skill. And when Rain is familiar with Vale's Sword Skill and even before Vale he knows what Vale's next move will be. Led Rain to several sword strikes leaving shallow cuts for maximum pain.

Rain can end Vale then and there but he after leaving a shallow cut pulls his sword back. He did not want to end the fight quickly, he wanted to see despair in Vale's face knowing his death was coming but he could not do anything to stop him.

Rain then left a cut on Vale's thigh leaving him to kneel on one knee. Vale looks at Rain with eyes flashing with pain then changes to anger," I did not want to do this but you left me no choice." his eyes flash with determination, " God of Flesh and Blood, your devout servant wishes upon your power."

Rain first thought there was no God of Flesh and Blood in this world, then Soul Chip took out Glenn's memory about Evil Gods and they are not Gods of the Alchemist world, they are foreign Gods bringing death and destruction to this world.

Rain watches as all the injuries he laid upon Vale heal and he grows larger and then first his cloth and then his skin ripped upon. And now before Rain is a monster without any skin covering himself. Rain with his soul power senses the aura of Vale and is very similar to the black ocean in the soul world. Rain understood the Black Ocean manifest in the Alchemist's world in the form of Evil Gods.

And then the monster charged toward him, Rain quickly rolled and dodged as the monster crashed in behind him. Seeing this Rain understood Vale could not control his newfound power and he would have to lead the monster to a place distance from here as the tent where his friends are kept is too close to the fight.
