Radiation world
Rain completed his mandatory mission of spending seven days fighting within the dead battlefield domain. After returning from the grueling experience, he immediately fell into a deep sleep to recover his energy. Now, Rain stood in a room within the fortress that felt familiar, much like the place where he had previously broken through to middle D-rank.
He drank an energy recovery medicine, sat down, and closed his eyes, focusing inward to find and unlock the genetic lock that would enable him to advance to late D-rank. Similar to his previous breakthrough, it took him seven energy recovery medicines before he succeeded in advancing. With his newfound power, Rain opened his personal panel to examine his updated stats:

Rain studied his updated panel with a sense of satisfaction. The gap between his strength and speed had significantly narrowed, making him a more balanced and formidable fighter. He knew that before the dead battlefield domain began producing C-rank monsters, he needed to reach peak D-rank. With 23 days remaining, he resolved to push forward. Tomorrow, their team had decided to take a well-deserved rest and not enter the domain.
Rain reflected on his progress: the Spring Rain Sword Art had finally reached D-rank after he skillfully combined the Cloud Sword Art and Iron Sword Art. He then glanced at the long list of palm techniques he had mastered in the Star Immortal World. The sight made him feel confident that after mastering the Violent Bear Palm Technique, his Blood Flame Palm would soon reach the master realm as well.
Satisfied, Rain gathered the empty and filled bottles of medicine, stood up, and walked toward the door to leave the room. As he opened it, he found his team waiting for him outside, their faces turning toward him with anticipation and silent questions about his breakthrough.
Rain smiled to reassure them, and as he reached them, he declared, "I am now a late D-rank genetic warrior." The group erupted in congratulations.
Damian clapped him on the shoulder. "Rain, at this rate, you'll reach peak D-rank before the domain starts spawning C-rank monsters."
Rain nodded. "It's all thanks to the city lord and the dead battlefield domain."
Siobhan sighed. "Ugh, I wish I could break through to late D-rank. My physique, genetic energy, and genetic refinement are all maxed out, but my genetic energy control is holding me back."
Rain acknowledged her frustration. Without his soul chip, he knew he would be facing the same dilemma.
Sky spoke up. "Tomorrow, since we're taking a rest day, come to my room, Siobhan. I'll help you with controlling your genetic energy."
A smile spread across Siobhan's face. "Thank you, Teacher Sky."
Damian grinned. "Well, let's celebrate Rain's achievement tonight."
Lily chimed in. "I'm starving. None of us have had dinner yet."
Rain realized that after waking up from his recovery and heading straight to his team, none of them had taken time for food. "Yes, I'm hungry too. Let's go. Tonight, dinner's on me." With that, they walked out of the building together.

Later, Rain sat on his bed, reflecting on the night's celebration. He closed his eyes and entered his soul space. From there, he crossed the barrier, emerging to face the vast, dark expanse of the black ocean. The inky waves pulsed with an unsettling, almost predatory life, sending a shiver through him as if the ocean itself was a living entity, ready to consume his soul space in an instant.
With tomorrow designated as a rest day, Rain resolved to create another clone in a different world. The insights gained from the Star Immortal World, even with less than 1% comprehension, had already contributed significantly to his strength. Determined, he began moving west toward a world he had observed earlier near the Star Immortal World.
As he flew, Rain noticed continents formed by the soul spaces of living beings floating above the dark ocean. Occasionally, tendrils of black mist would rise from the ocean, lashing out and engulfing some of these bright, white soul spaces. He watched as entire soul spaces turned pitch black before sinking beneath the surface, swallowed by the abyss. This unsettling cycle repeated itself across numerous soul space continents, a silent reminder of the ocean's insidious nature.
After some time, Rain reached his destination. The Star World stood in stark contrast, with eight radiant soul spaces that illuminated the black ocean, casting a silvery glow across the surrounding continents. But the new world before him have only five luminous soul spaces, each floating amidst drifting clouds and casting a soft, grey light that battled the darkness below.
Rain's gaze shifted to the soul space continent below hovering over the grey waters, searching for any soul space's sign of breaking and repairing—signs of a life on the brink of death, fighting to hold on and potentially salvageable with external support.
"There it is," Rain murmured, spotting a soul space that flickered between breaking and mending. Without hesitation, he sent his consciousness into the fragile space, feeling the familiar pull as he entered. Moments later, darkness overcame him, and he lost consciousness.
After a few hours, Rain woke and entered his soul space. He examined his soul and noticed that a tenth of it was missing, a sliver torn away during the transfer. Studying it closely, he saw the gradual process of regeneration. Turning his thoughts to his soul chip, he asked, "How long until my soul fully recovers?"
The soul chip responded, "Three months under normal circumstances. However, reaching peak D-rank would accelerate recovery."
Rain shifted his attention to finding the vortex that would soon form within his soul barrier. Once formed, this vortex would evolve into a black, mirror-like surface, signaling the successful connection with his new clone in the unknown world.
