"So what are you insinuating?"Gabrielle barked as she slammed her hands on the table.
She was currently in the elders meeting and Jonathan was uttering some gibberish that was pushing her to the edge. Lucifer brushed his hands in her palm and held it firmly calming her down and it worked. She became calm.
"I don't see anything wrong it in, princess. According to our culture, each princess should have her personal knight before marriage and since you already brought your fiancee then you should have one too. Unless you are against our culture and beliefs"Elder Jonathan said calmly but only Gabrielle understands the venom behind his words.
"And I said I don't need one! Am a warrior for goddess's sake so I can protect myself. If the need comes for protection then my fiancé will protect me"Gabrielle bawled and Lucifer also nodded as he stood beside her.
"I agree with her. I don't think I will feel safe having a man following her everywhere. Men aren't trustworthy"Lucifer(Kennedy) said and Elder Jonathan sneered within.
It took him days to come up with this plan and their little words wouldn't make him lose.
"Do you mean "men aren't trustworthy" or your fiancee isn't? We all know her to be wild and without dignity. She slept with almost every men in the clan"Jonathan said hoping to ruin Gabrielle's image before Kennedy whom he thought was bewitched into falling in love with her but he earned a growl from Lucifer and Aaron.
"I won't stand you blaspheming my fiancee. I met her virgin and I can prove it"Lucifer bawled before he could stop himself and all eyes turned to him including that of Gabrielle as murmurs filled the hall.
They haven't even had sex before yet he claimed he met her a virgin? What if she wasn't a virgin? She couldn't deny that Jonathan's words hit her hard. He was questioning her dignity as a lady and she thought no one would defend her but he did.
"Then that means our princess violated the rules. She allowed a man touch her before the mating and marriage ceremony" Elder Jonathan said and the other elders agreed with him as a louder murmur filled the hall and Lucifer sighed frustratedly.
He was just trying to stop a problem from breaking out but it seems another one erupted.
"Silence!"Aaron roared and the hall fell silent that even if a pin dropped it will be heard.
Jonathan smirked internally. He was using their words against them and there's no way he's going to lose at this rate. She will later have no choice than to accept whatever he says.
"Let's go back to our earlier discussion about the personal knights"Aaron said and Jonathan chuckled.
"Is our king trying to cover up his daughter's indecency? It seems our king also forgot our cultural virtues"Jonathan taunted and Aaron tightened his grip on his chair holding himself back from tearing apart that mouth.
"Don't even dare, Jonathan. You are against me not my father"Gabrielle bawled and Jonathan looked at her with amusement in his eyes.
"Am not against anyone, princess. I just want our virtues to be kept"Jonathan replied and Gabrielle sighed as she rubbed her temples.
"Am not going to accept a personal knight. Like I said earlier, my fiancé can protect me"Gabrielle said and Jonathan scoffed.
"Wouldn't that be inconsiderate to young master Kennedy? He has affairs of their clan to look after as he is the next-in-line to the throne. We can't cause him discomfort over a marriage agreement after all he has done us a favor by agreeing to marry our sassy princess"Jonathan said with fake empathy and Gabrielle rolled her eyes.
"If taking care of a gem is causing me discomfort then what do I live for? You don't understand that I am marrying your princess not because of an agreement but because I LOVE HER"Lucifer said laying emphasis on the last few words and Elder Jonathan frowned.
Why does he feel like Kennedy,the supposed fiancé was here to stand against him? But he wasn't still backing down.
"Still it isn't still appropriate. You know the history behind demons and vampires and we aren't pals so having you around the vampire clan might cause tension and chaos in the clan. As you know, we haven't announced our princess marriage with you"Elder Jonathan pressed further and Gabrielle sighed.
She knew there was more to this knight's stuff.
"Okay, I accept a personal knight"she said and her father turned to her.
He knew at once that she had something up her sleeve but it was still dangerous. Judging by Jonathan's insistence on getting her a knight then he must have a plan.
"That's great. We already arranged a knight for you and we'll call him in now"said Jonathan as he walked out of the hall and came back with a young man.
Lucifer's eyebrow furrowed and he frowned as he stared at the man with familiar scent. His demon was on the edge and even Veer wanted to take over. They wanted to rip the head of the unknown man.
"Who is he?"he asked Frediano who growled angrily.
"Nathan's reincarnation"Frediano growled and he clenched his fists as he stared at him.
What was he doing here? And as Gabrielle's personal knight? It wasn't impossible that he was here for Gabrielle but does he remember the past? How did Jonathan get to know him?
It must all be Vanessa. This life seems to be taken a huge turn than the past. Things are happening faster and differently.
"This is Noel Smith,the son of the late head warrior"Elder Jonathan said and Aaron squinted his eyebrow.
"I thought the head warrior had no child before his death?"Aaron asked and Gabrielle also nodded in agreement.
The head warrior never met his mate before his death and he didn't mate with another woman.
"That's what he wanted people to believe and as you know that he is my close friend. He kept this child with me"Jonathan said lying through his teeth. He had it all planned out initially.
"Nice meeting you, Noel. Am Gabrielle"Gabrielle said putting her doubts aside as she stretched her hands out for handshake smiling widely.
"It's a pleasure, my lady. I promise to serve you diligently"Noel said as he accepted the handshake feeling the smoothness of her hands.
"I hope you do. Am entrusting her to you"Lucifer said as he pulled Gabrielle's hand away from his and Noel looked up to meet his deadly gaze.
Noel squinted his eyebrow in realization. Wasn't this the man he saw with Amelia? What was he doing here and why was he beside Gabrielle? Was he two-timing?
"And you are?"Noel asked with a raised eyebrow and Lucifer chuckled.
"Kennedy Alistair, the prince of the demons and her fiancé"Lucifer said stretching his arm out and Noel gladly accepted it.
"I hope we get along"Noel said with a smirk which Lucifer returned.
"I can't hope for anything more"Lucifer replied.

Lucifer was in the garden enjoying the evening breeze as his thoughts wandered off to the meeting this morning. The meeting ended on a rough note with Gabrielle leaving with a personal knight that was forced on her.
He knew more chaos is to come but he couldn't help but feel pity for Gabrielle. It was his first time in meetings like that yet he was frustrated and he had severe headache afterwards. He couldn't help but imagine how Gabrielle coped, she's been attending those meeting all her life.
"I guess we met sooner than we expected"he heard a voice behind him accompanied with a familiar scent that he detest. He turned and saw Noel staring at him.
"So you are two-timing?" Noel asked as he stood beside Lucifer and Lucifer raised in eyebrow in confusion.
"Don't pretend like you don't know what am talking about. I saw you with Amelia and your demon threatened to deal with me when next we meet"Noel said as he watched the confused look on Lucifer turn into a smirk.
Seems like Noel met the real Kennedy and Amelia. Zack must have taken him as an enemy which is bad for him. Frediano told him about Zack and his ruthlessness.
"I still remember that but we are in the palace anything that happened outside the palace remains outside"Lucifer replied playing along and Noel chuckled.
"Why? Are you afraid Gabrielle will find out about your infidelity?"Noel asked mockingly and Lucifer chuckled facing him.
"No, am afraid your secret might be exposed too soon"Lucifer said and Noel laughed heartily as he glared at him.
"What secrets? Is it the fact that Amelia isn't enough for you and you decided to have Gabrielle too?"taunted Noel and Lucifer smiled.
"You are funny. Well what can I say, with this face of mine,one woman isn't enough"Lucifer said and Noel growled.
"You don't deserve Gabrielle. She deserves better than a cheating bastard and I will give her the best she deserves"Noel said and Lucifer chuckled.
"Is that best "you"?"Lucifer mocked and Noel growled.
"I will take her away from you, I promise. I will also have Amelia. You will lose both of them"Noel said and Lucifer chuckled.
"You are so confident, aren't you? Lucifer said.
If he was sure of one thing then it is that Noel didn't lose the past memories. How it happened is still a mystery but he knows that it spells D-O-O-M. He has to meet Amelia to know what happened between them.
"Just wait and see. I will laugh at your face when you lose it all"Noel said and Lucifer put on a serous expression.
"It's GAME ON then" Lucifer said and Noel nodded.
"may the BEST GAMER have it all"Noel replied.
