Chapter 1 - The Beginning

Saka sat down on a park bench. Just as he was about to eat his burger, the voices suddenly returned to his head, telling him to die or commit a crime.

He ignored them and continued eating the burger. After just a few bites, Saka sensed an unpleasant presence around him. He let out a rough breath and noticed wisps of black smoke transforming into creepy creatures.

This time, it wasn't just one or two, but dozens. They were all staring at Saka. "This is bad!" Saka sprinted. The creatures chased after him. Why are they chasing me?

Suddenly, there was the sound of a lion's roar. A lion lunged at the creatures, but they quickly turned into wisps of smoke and vanished. Saka stared at the lion for a moment, then hurried into the house. He locked all the doors and windows.

His breathing was labored. He had been experiencing strange things for a year—everything from evil voices to creepy creatures like the ones earlier. Soon, there was a knock at the door. "Are they back? But there's no way they'd knock on the door."

The door opened. Two policemen stood there.

"Can I help you?" Saka asked.

"We received a report about you disturbing the peace," one of them said.

"What? What kind of nonsense is this? I'm not causing any trouble."

"But you had a fight with Olga."

"Olga? He's the one who reported it?" They had argued that afternoon, and Saka had punched Olga in the face.

"That's right. You need to come with us to the station."

"I didn't do anything!"

"Explain that at the station."

Saka fell silent. If he refused, the two policemen would take him by force. There would be a commotion, and the neighbors would know.

"All right," he said.

*****

"You tricked me!"

On the way, Saka realized that they weren't heading to the police station. He couldn't act rashly at that moment. They arrived at a one-story wooden house in the middle of the forest.

"We have no ill intentions. In fact, we want to help you."

"Help?" Saka was surprised.

"My name is Tom, and this is Jerry."

"Tom? Jerry?"

"I know what you're thinking when you hear our names, but that's not what we're here to talk about. Over the past year, something unbelievable has happened to you, right? Like hearing strange noises and seeing RUTHA."

"Rutha is one of the mixed demon races," Jerry chimed in.

"Rutha? The wisp of smoke that turned into a creepy creature?"

"That's right," Tom said. "Our job this time is to get rid of the Rutha inside you. Those noises you've been hearing? All caused by the Rutha."

Saka was both shocked and incredulous at what he heard. "Don't try to trick me like you did earlier!"

"Stubborn boy," Tom muttered. "Answer just one question. Is what we explained about your strange condition true?"

Saka was silent for a moment. "It is."

"Is that not enough proof that we're not deceiving you?"

"Okay, I agree. Help me get rid of them."

Tom gave Jerry the signal. Jerry left the room, and soon, Saka smelled a strange fragrance. Jerry came back with incense. Saka felt drowsy, and in less than ten minutes, he was fast asleep.

*****

Saka stood on the grassland. From the ground emerged chains and threads that bound his hands together. A feeling of panic struck.

"Calm down, Saka." Tom was already standing in front while Jerry was behind.

"What the hell!"

"You agreed to be helped, and this is how."

Jerry ripped off Saka's shirt and stabbed a dagger into his back. A loud cry of pain rang out. His body collapsed as Jerry pulled out the dagger.

A large amount of black smoke poured out of the wound, scattering in the air and forming the face of a hideous demon, screaming in rage. Tom drew his sword and immediately slashed at the demons, while Jerry plunged the dagger deeper.

Saka stood up, with black smoke still pouring out of his body. He screamed angrily and was about to attack Jerry. The chains binding his hands were d were still some ed, but there eads left, now glowing red whenever Saka struggled.

Jerry helped Tom attack the demons that were trying to escape and those attempting to re-enter Saka's body. Meanwhile, Saka was still resisting.

The black smoke that came out of Saka's body slowly thinned. He regained consciousness, feeling intense pain and fatigue. His body collapsed, and Saka vomited blood. He looked around. It was the same room as before he fell asleep.

"How are you feeling? Feeling better?"

"Yes. My body feels lighter." As he felt his back, he remembered when Jerry had injured him. "There's no wound. How can that be? The pain was very real."

"This is just the beginning. In the future, you'll be even more surprised. Go home and rest; Jerry will take care of you."

*****

Human civilization was once very advanced. However, that didn't satisfy them. The earth slowly began to deteriorate, and some people started to realize the importance of protecting the environment. Eventually, humans split into two camps, and the debate continued.

The demons, aware of this division, were pleased. They provoked the humans to hate each other even more. War ensued, devastating the entire land and sea.

What was once a highly advanced civilization was now reset. The portal connecting the demon and human dimensions was closed, and angels were sent down to keep the earth stable.

The demons were furious. They sought every possible way to reopen the portal. Meanwhile, in the human world, life went on. Despite the new beginning, human evil persisted, and over time, it only grew worse.

Negative actions generate negative energy. This energy weakens the barrier between the human and demon dimensions. Eventually, the barrier crumbled, the portal opened, and the demons rejoiced once again. Over the millennia, the demons have managed to gather countless souls to fuel their power. These souls are tormented, waiting for salvation.
