There was not much to clean around the village, Chavu found. Everyone had a broom, and they swept. There was no litter in Gorington, which spoke well for the villagers. Chavu wondered how it had been his luck to come during the housekeeping day.
He swept, and stole glances at Marcellus, who was doing much the same. The vampire had a concentrated expression on his face, clearly taking his task seriously.
Chavu knew that Marcellus had been lonely for a very long time. Maybe even an entire millennium, if Chavu had to guess. So, right now, that Marcellus was finally getting some company, he felt more relaxed. Or, at least, that was what Chavu liked to believe.
Chavu knew that he had to become more assertive. He couldn't just let Marcellus do all the work in their relationship. Chavu was having fun, even now, as he swept. He wanted to continue to have fun with Marcellus.
No, he wanted more than that.
