"Tess!" Damon appeared next to me surprisingly quickly. He took my face in his hands and looked at the bleeding wound.
"Damn it! Steven! They should regret their behavior! Deal with them" He growled menacingly at the surprised warriors. He picked me up and started walking towards their hospital. It was as if I weighed nothing to him. Still surprised by the earlier incident, I didn't know what to say to him.
"Damon... Nothing happened. I just need to put some gauze on it..."
He didn't react to my suggestions. He was furious about the whole incident and didn't want to say something he shouldn't have. Walking inside, he walked with me into the first available room and carefully placed me on the bed.
"Nelly!" He shouted, scaring me a little. Blood was still dripping from my forehead onto my sweatshirt.
"What happened?" A very tall blonde beauty with short hair and brown eyes entered the room. "Ouch... That must have hurt." She looked at me and frowned. She carefully examined my wound before placing a piece of gauze on my forehead. "It needs to be stitched up. The wound is quite deep. Wait a moment, I'll bring the necessary things"
The doctor quickly disappeared out the door, leaving me surprised. Stitch? Was it that bad? I didn't feel much pain. Suddenly, a menacing growl erupted from the furious Damon's chest.
"I'll kill them!" He jumped up from the chair to leave the room, but I quickly shouted after him.
"Damon! Wait! Don't leave me here alone" Tears appeared in the corners of my eyes. I didn't want to be left alone with a unknown woman, knowing that she would soon stitch me up. And for some reason I was worried about the two warriors who made all this happen. He stopped, gripping the door tightly and taking a deep breath, he turned to me. Seeing my terrified face, he came and sat next to me, grabbing my hand.
"Relax. I'm with you" He said, much more gently. I closed my eyes and tried to calm down, knowing that he would stay with me.
"I'm here. I'll help you in a minute, my love. It'll be over soon," Nelly said in a gentle voice, preparing the appropriate things.
I closed my eyes and squeezed Damon's hand, seeking comfort from him. He purred for me, allowing me to calm my nerves. Nelly looked at him strangely for a moment, but quickly went back to working on the wound. Dressing the wound wasn't very pleasant, but his purring helped a lot.
"It's done. In a few days, the stitches will dissolve and the wound should heal on its own. Unfortunately, I'm not entirely sure whether it won't leave you with a scar"
Damon growled menacingly again, hearing her words. I placed my other hand on his, looking at him gently. Nelly, witnessing all this, didn't know what to say.
"What an idiot I am. I'm Nelly, the doctor at the BlackMoon Pack. You must be that new person, right? What's your name?" She asked me eagerly.
"Tess. Nice to meet you."
"So how did this happen?" She looked at my bandaged wound.
"Rick and Danny" Damon growled menacingly.
"It's nothing big. It was just a coincidence..."
"Oh no, honey. When these two start fighting, nothing happens by accident" She nodded. "But I see it won't end well this time" She looked at the gloomy Damon. "Yeah. So, take care of yourself and try not to get it wet" She waved goodbye and left the room. To my surprise, I landed in his arms again.
"Damon! I can go by myself" I pleaded but sat politely in his arms. Regardless of my protests, we headed towards my house. He came inside and set me down on my bed, staring at my wound angrily.
"I'm sorry... I was supposed to watch over you and you got injured on the second day" He clenched his fists tightly.
"Damon..." I wanted to tell him something but he quickly stood up, said he would bring me food and disappeared.
Damon
I was furious. My wolf wanted to come out and tear these two idiots apart. When I saw Rick flying towards Tess, I almost transformed. Fortunately, she narrowly avoided a collision when she heard my warning. In the blink of an eye, I ran to her, checking if she was okay. Suddenly, blood started flowing down her small face. I panicked. I quickly picked her up and, despite her protests, carried her to Nelly. Tess was pale and malnourished enough. The last thing I needed was to watch her lose precious blood. Knowing that it would have to be sewn up, I couldn't stand it and wanted to kill the bastards. But her distraught voice stopped me. I looked at her terrified face and immediately regained my composure. She needed me. I couldn't leave her now, seeing how scared she was. I took her hand and showed her that I would not leave. I saw the grimace on her face as Nelly tended to her wound. I didn't like the feeling of helplessness when seeing her suffer. I tried to purr for her, calming her down. Another wave of anger came when I heard that she would be left with a scar. "I'll kill them!" I roared, but Tess's hand stopped me. She looked at me gently and reassured me once again. Nelly looked at us strangely but I didn't care. When I heard we could go, I couldn't wait to go back and deal with the bullies. I picked her up again and, listening to her quiet, charming protests, I transported her to her bed. With regret, I looked at her cut forehead one last time, apologized for not protecting her, and, promising to bring food, quickly returned to the training field. Everyone waited a little nervously. And that's good. I'm about to show you what it means to ignore my orders and hurt my... protege.
"Rick, Danny, center!" I roared, making everyone flinch in fear. Two battered warriors stepped out of the crowd. "Transform!" at my command they turned into their wolves. I stood in front of them with black eyes and the last thing they heard from my mouth was "Attack!"
That day, everyone learned from the example of two hotheads that they should listen to me. At the end, the severely bruised ones were informed by me that for a week they would do twice the number of exercises as the rest. With humility and heads down, I sent them to Nelly. Eventually some of the steam came off me so I went to the kitchen to get some food for me and Tess. Standing in front of her door, I hesitated, knowing how I had left her. What if she gets mad at me about it? What if she wants to change the guard? I frowned as I stood motionless in front of her door.
Tess
After Damon left suddenly, I had to do something to occupy my mind. I felt like he was angry about the whole incident and I couldn't stop blaming myself for it.
When I saw them fighting, I should have immediately hid behind a tree or something, but I didn't. I had to sit and watch like a calf not seeing danger. He was definitely angry. Not only was he on my mind, but on the second day I had an accident... And what if Alfa scolded him because of that?
Looking at the bloody clothes with my head full of ideas, I went to the bathroom to try to get rid of the blood. After scrubbing for a dozen or so minutes, I ran some warm water and took a bath. Once again, I took out the book and became absorbed in reading until I felt that Damon had returned. But how did I know that? With furrowed brows and cautious steps, I walked to the front door and slowly opened it. I couldn't believe what I saw. He was really there. This was all starting to get weirder. Seeing him standing there thoughtfully, I decided to speak first.
"Hey. Thanks for the food. Come inside"
He quickly recovered from my words and walked into the living room, placing the food on the table. We started eating and looked at each other in silence.
"I hope you didn't beat them up too badly" I muttered quietly.
His beautiful green eyes staring at me.
"You know, all the previous threats and all" I clearly showed him, looking at his bloody clothes here and there. Seeing how he just noticed it and the shock written on his face when he didn't know what to do with it, I burst out laughing. He seemed relieved to see me laughing.
"Don't worry. They learned a good lesson. They're fine" He rolled his eyes as if scolding me for caring about two jerks. After dinner, we sat on the armchairs for a while and I watched him carefully look around the shelves, seeing my things arranged.
"Have you read it?" He asked, pointing to the book set aside that I had been reading before he came. He took it in his hand and started reading. "Interesting?" He looked at me with narrowed eyes as if he had caught me red-handed.
"Very" I started to play with my fingers, glad that he didn't see the spicy ones... Suddenly I flinched when I heard his growl but quickly felt a pleasant warmth spread throughout my body.
"Sorry. I didn't mean to scare you." I was surprised and looked at him, turning my head charmingly to the side.
"Why do you think that?"
"Everyone is afraid of my growl. They think it's dangerous" He looked down, visibly sad.
"When I like that sound. It's so calming" By the time I noticed what I said it was too late. Damon looked at me with surprise.
Damn it. Now he'll think I'm weird.
"Do you really like it?" He asked in disbelief. I nodded quickly. He growled again and I closed my eyes and with a smile on my face, I relaxed enough to yawn. I quickly covered my mouth, but it didn't escape his attention.
"Get some rest. I'll see you tomorrow" He collected the trays and left the house.
"See you tomorrow," I whispered quietly, thinking he wouldn't hear. I climbed into bed, hugged the blanket and fell asleep.
