The gunfire continued to rattle around me, the sharp, metallic scent of gunpowder thick in the air. My eyes darted between the men, struggling to make sense of the chaos as I fired back, my shots finding their targets. One man fell to the ground with a grunt, and another lunged at me from behind. But I was faster, taking him down with a swift strike.
Giovanni returned, his face tight with urgency. I let out a sigh of relief when I saw he was okay. "She's safe?" I asked, my voice barely audible over the commotion.
"She's fine. But we've got bigger problems," Giovanni said grimly, his eyes scanning the area. "They're here for Elis."
