I woke up early, around five in the morning. Castiel was already up, leaving just Reese and me. I tucked her in tightly with the sheets before heading downstairs, hoping to find him in the kitchen.
We had unconsciously divided our chores: Castiel had risen before us to prepare breakfast and pack our lunches for work and school, while I focused on waking up and getting Reese ready.
I'm immensely grateful for everything he's done for us. Even though our marriage is fake and offers him no real benefit, his dedication is compelling.
"Good morning," I greeted as I entered the kitchen. He turned away from the oven, removing his glasses, which were fogged from the steam.
"Good morning," he replied.
