Chapter 3 - chapter 3: the forgotten meomory

Yami woke up to the soft hum of morning life outside his window, but inside, his heart was heavy, weighed down by memories he had tried to forget. The warmth of the early sunlight that filtered through the curtains couldn't chase away the cold that clung to him. Lying there, his thoughts drifted, as they often did in the stillness of the morning, back to the women who had left their mark on his heart.

His mind first wandered to Eliza. The Romanian girl who had confessed her feelings to him over Taskagram. The memory of their three months together, filled with endless chats and declarations of love, came rushing back. She had seemed like a lifeline in his otherwise lonely existence. But as suddenly as she came into his life, she had started to slip away, ignoring him, distancing herself, until the truth finally broke him: "It wasn't even me. It was my cousin who used my picture and played with you."

The betrayal had cut deep, but not as deep as what followed. After Eliza's cruel confession, Yami had tried to move on, to find some semblance of peace. That's when he met her—the girl from Australia .She had been a breath of fresh air, someone who understood him in ways no one else did. Their relationship blossomed quickly, and for almost a year, Yami had dared to hope again. He believed she was different, that maybe this time, love would be kind to him.

But even that hope crumbled. She cheated on him, shattering the trust he had carefully built. Yami could still feel the sting of betrayal, sharper than anything Eliza had done. This time, it wasn't a stranger playing games with his heart—it was someone he had truly cared for, someone he had thought cared for him in return.

He had loved her deeply, more than he wanted to admit, and she had thrown that love away. The pain of that betrayal had left him questioning everything about himself. Why wasn't he enough? Why did the people he loved always leave him?

Yami sighed as he stared at the ceiling, his chest tightening with the familiar ache of heartbreak. If he had learned anything from those two relationships, it was that love seemed to elude him no matter how hard he tried to hold on to it. First Eliza, with her lies, and then the girl from Australia, who had betrayed him in the worst way possible.

He couldn't help but think that perhaps it was his fate to be unlucky in love. The thought that haunted him now was, "If I love someone too much, they'll leave me." This belief had become a part of him, a truth he couldn't shake off.

As he lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, a new question surfaced in his mind. "Maybe I should experience love in real life?" Could it be that the answer to all his heartache lay outside the virtual connections he had clung to so desperately? Could real love, not one built through screens, finally bring him peace?

The thought lingered, leaving him with more questions than answers. But for the first time in a long while, the idea of stepping into the unknown didn't terrify him.
