Chapter 16- The Start of the Journey

-----

"So, what do you think? Can we go?" I asked my parents, hoping for their permission for the trip. My dad looked serious for a moment, deep in thought. Finally, he replied, "Well, sure, you can go. But the responsibility of looking after Seekvaira rests on you. And take Goliath with you—he and Agatha should be enough for security, though it's likely unnecessary with Grayfia Lucifuge present."

I exhaled in relief, hearing his approval. My mom smiled, nodding as well. "Yes, dear, you're free to go. But Seek-chan, do keep an eye on Max-chan. He may be engaged to Rias now, but that doesn't mean he's ready for a honeymoon just yet."

"Mom!" I groaned internally. I don't know when it happened, but she had somehow developed a habit of teasing me at every opportunity, and it showed no signs of stopping.

"Don't worry, Mom! I'll keep an eye on Brother," Seekvaira replied with a perfectly serious expression. I couldn't help but think, 'Are you kidding me!!, seriously? You too?!',

With our parents' permission secured, it was time to start preparations. Honestly, I didn't need much. But the same couldn't be said for the girls. Over the next week, I found myself repeatedly coordinating with Rias, Seek, and Lavinia about our plans and arrangements. It was exhausting. I mean, was all this planning really necessary for a simple trip? We're devils! Language barriers won't be an issue, thanks to our All-Speak ability, and there's no real danger. After all, I'm here, and while I might plan to keep my full strength under wraps, I won't hesitate to act if needed. Frankly, aside from a few of the main gods or god-kings of different pantheons, there's hardly anyone I'd consider a true threat... of course, that is ignoring the dragon gods. But still, for most places we are the one's considered the danger, not the ones in danger, so all of that planning was for clothes and stuff, and they prepared for it as if they aren't going to shopping at about every place we visit.

Our journey would start in the United States of America—a territory split among the Greek gods, Roman gods, Heaven, and the Devils. Each faction controls its own regions and doesn't mind visitors, so long as they avoid causing chaos or undermining anyone's interests. The Greeks and Romans have demigods scattered across the country, though not in large numbers. Heaven, represented by the churches of the Biblical God, holds the largest influence, followed by the Devils, who govern notable territories like Las Vegas, New Orleans, and several others. The diversity alone makes it an interesting place to visit.

And as Devils, naturally, we began our journey in Las Vegas. Yes, it might not be the most appropriate city for kids, but it's the greatest Devil-governed city in the U.S. We arrived using teleportation magic, arranged in advance, and found ourselves in the heart of Sin City.

Despite my past life's experiences in America, this visit held new significance. I'd come not just for the scenery but to investigate a peculiar suspicion. Hearing about the Greeks, Romans, and their demigods in America sparked a thought—could this world be a fusion of more than just the DxD universe? For instance, the Greek pantheon controls both Greece and parts of America, with Mount Olympus located in a separate dimension connected to both Mount Olympus in Greece and the Empire State Building in America. All these hints point to one thing: the presence of the Percy Jackson universe integrated into the DxD world.

If that's true, it wouldn't shift the larger balance of power drastically. Gaia, while formidable, is still weaker than deities like Shiva. But it certainly makes things more interesting. Now, I just need to confirm my suspicions.

Though I can't deny the implications if it turns out to be true. For one, we can never be sure that only the Percy Jackson universe has been added; maybe several smaller universes have been included—some I might not even know about. Overall, the main theme still seems to be the DxD universe, though it does give me more opportunities. I could do deep research into the different universes and form a perfect team combining several of them. There may be several individuals with high potential among them.

One thing I can be certain of is that there are no overpowered characters in these added universes. If they existed, I would have learned about them and their political significance. Perhaps some are hidden, but that's unlikely. Devils are not to be underestimated, and if they can remain hidden, they're either too weak for the devils to notice or too strong to prevent the devils from even knowing about them. The second case is unlikely, and if it's the first, then they are insignificant.

As for Las Vegas, widely known as the City of Sin, it lived up to its name with endless casinos and nightclubs. Naturally, we wouldn't be visiting those, but to better experience the human world, we decided to travel around the city like humans. Not that we'd rely on human means all the time, but occasionally it could be fun to blend in.

We first went to the best restaurant in the city. As they say, the best way to know a place is by eating its food. Although the U.S. lacks a traditional cuisine of its own, it has blended dishes from all over the world, creating one that could be considered unique to it. After a nice meal, it was time to decide on a good place to start exploring. Our first day was spent traveling across the streets of Las Vegas. Though at some places, gangsters attempted to approach us due to our attire, which made us look like some seriously rich people, Agatha made sure they disappeared before they could come close.

And just as I had anticipated, the girls started shopping, and me with my powers.....was conviently made a portable inventory... This level of misuse, it's almost disrespectful....even Lavinia has joined them, haah...I guess women change while shopping...

Overall, it was a good start. We all went to a villa owned by House Agares to rest for the day. Tomorrow, we'll leave Las Vegas and travel across the country.
