Chapter 13 - Wild Game Night Part 3

Tonight, the air crackled with a different kind of tension. It was the third Friday of game night, a tradition that usually provided a release from the pressures of their idol lives. Tonight, however, the game of Truth or Dare, fueled by a deck of cards each bearing a carefully penned question or challenge, was spiraling out of control.

Bang Chan, ever the responsible leader, had initially suggested the game, hoping for some lighthearted fun. They'd gathered in the grand living room, sprawled on plush sofas and scattered cushions. The first few rounds were tame, filled with playful teasing and harmless dares. Seungmin was forced to sing a ballad in a squeaky voice, I.N. had to attempt a ridiculously complicated dance move, and Hyunjin was challenged to do a dramatic pose after every sentence for three rounds.

But then, the cards started to turn.

Changbin, with a mischievous glint in his eyes, drew a card that dared the chosen person to kiss the person on their left. The room went silent. He looked at Han, who sat beside him, a mixture of surprise and mortification on his face. Hesitantly, Changbin leaned in, pressing a light kiss to Han's cheek. The room erupted in giggles and playful groans.

The next card, drawn by Felix, simply stated, "Give a hickey to the person opposite you." Felix's eyes widened in panic, his freckled face turning a shade of crimson. Directly opposite him sat Lee Know, who gave a slight smirk, a hint of challenge in his eyes. The room held its breath as the dare was carried out. There was a collective gasp when a small, red mark bloomed on Lee Know's neck. The line between playful fun and something more intimate had been sharply crossed.

The questions started to dig deeper. "Who was your first kiss!?" Han blurted out, his face turning a bright red when he read the card. A tense silence fell upon the room, and each member nervously fidgeted. Lee Know confessed his first kiss was during a school play, a quick peck that he barely remembered, much to the amusement of the others. But the next card, drawn by Hyunjin, went even further: "Who's your crush right now?"

The room went quiet. Hyunjin looked around, his usual confidence faltering. He mumbled under his breath as he read out the card, then he placed it down. Nobody picked it up. It was the elephant in the room now, a topic that no one dared to touch, especially in front of all eight of them. It was a stark reminder they were not just friends but complex individuals with unsaid feelings.

The atmosphere became increasingly charged. Some of the truths became unbearably invasive. "Have you ever had sex?" Seungmin read from his card, his voice trembling. It was a question no one was prepared to answer, a boundary that had been broken in a moment of thoughtless excitement. The question hung in the air, heavy and uncomfortable.

Chan watched as the game spiraled into chaos. The laughter had been replaced with forced smiles and averted gazes. The intimacy of the truths and dares had created a suffocating tension. He felt a pang of regret. What had started as a way to bond had turned into a minefield of unspoken feelings and awkward silences.

I.N, usually the most reserved, seemed visibly disturbed by the direction the game had taken. His youthful optimism had been replaced by a sense of unease. He pulled a card that dared him to give a massage on the back of the person on his right. He quickly and roughly massaged Felix's back, without any feeling or effort.

The rest of the night was a blur. The members continued to play, but the playfulness was gone. They were walking on eggshells, each truth and dare a potential landmine. The unspoken tension became palpable, the mansion feeling smaller and more stifling than ever before. The once bright living room now felt like a cage, trapping all of them in a web of awkward confessions and forced intimacy.

As the clock struck midnight, they finally abandoned the game, the deck of cards scattered on the floor like evidence of the night's chaotic descent. They retreated to their separate rooms, each member carrying a weight of embarrassment and confusion. The laughter had been silenced, replaced by a quiet unease that lingered in the air.

The third Friday of game night had become a stark reminder that even within the bonds of friendship, there were boundaries that should not be crossed. The chaos had revealed not just playful antics, but also the vulnerability and hidden depths that resided within each member of Stray Kids. The mansion, now silent, carried the weight of the unraveling that had transpired, leaving the members to confront the aftermath of their game gone wrong and the uncomfortable truths that had been exposed.
