Her friends turned their heads in her direction, their faces animated with a mix of surprise and amusement. Carol's eyes widened as she stole a glance at the vibrant flowers resting on the table, realization dawning upon her.
"Wow, that was quite the toss!" Valerie exclaimed once the crowd began to settle, in the wake of the bouquet's somewhat anticlimactic landing. The bouquet had slipped from the anticipated hands, destined for someone else entirely.
"You knew it was coming your way, didn't you? That's why you didn't join us in trying to catch it!" Melissa teased, a playful grin etched across her face. Carol shook her head vigorously, her expression one of innocent confusion.
