As I stepped into the serene staff room, a wave of relief washed over me. The sparse presence of students meant there were fewer judgmental eyes to scrutinize me.
With a deep breath, I opened the door to Roman's office, and all at once, the weight of my emotions crashed down on me like an enormous wave.
I walked hesitantly towards his desk and sank into his chair, longing for the warmth he often emanated. I closed my eyes, burying my face in the cool, polished wood, hoping that some remnant of his comfort would wrap around me like a familiar blanket. Finally, here I was, alone, where I could cry freely without pretense.
