100 stones = +1 Chapter
----
Megumi grew up in a seaside town, living with her mother and grandfather. She was always a simple and traditional girl.
Her mother often warned her not to fall in love too soon and to never let boys see her body casually.
Megumi had always followed her mother's advice.
But now, not only had she allowed Sui to see her body, she had also let him spend the night in her room.
Her mother had explicitly warned her about this the previous day.
Seeing the traces of blood on the quilt and feeling the faint ache in her lower body, Megumi knew exactly what this meant. She wasn't naive and couldn't stop the tears from falling.
Since she was young, her mother had told her that a girl's first time was precious, something that should only be given to the person who would stay by her side for the rest of her life.
But now, she had given away her most precious first time to a boy without really understanding the consequences. This left Megumi, who had always been obedient and well-behaved, feeling terrified and overwhelmed with guilt. She felt as if she had betrayed her mother.
Does this mean I've become a bad girl in everyone's eyes?
"Mom, I'm so sorry. I've become a bad girl. I'm no longer pure."
Megumi buried her face in her knees, curled up in the quilt, exposing her smooth and delicate back. She cried pitifully, like a lost kitten searching for its home.
Sui felt a deep sense of guilt as well. He scratched his head, unsure of what to say.
"I'm sorry, Megumi, about last night…"
"It's not your fault."
Megumi looked up with her tear-filled eyes, shook her head, and said softly, "It was all my fault. I was too shameless."
She still remembered how Sui had tried to leave several times the previous night, but she had been unable to control her emotions and had kept holding him back.
"I'm sorry, Megumi."
Sui hesitated for a moment, then finally made up his mind and said, "Don't worry. I'll take responsibility."
"Take responsibility?"
Megumi looked up, a hint of shyness and hope flashing in her tearful eyes, but it quickly faded.
"No, if you do that, wouldn't that mean betraying Miss Erina?"
Megumi said sadly, "Miss Erina has been so kind to me…"
Mentioning Erina made Sui feel conflicted as well.
"Anyway, this isn't your fault, Sui-kun. It's all my fault for not listening to my mother. I'm such a disgraceful girl."
Megumi lowered her head and timidly pulled the quilt over her bare back, speaking in a low voice.
"Alright."
Seeing that Megumi still couldn't come to terms with it, Sui tried to comfort her. "Actually, Megumi, this wasn't just your fault. We were both a bit confused last night. If it had been anyone else, the same thing might have happened."
"Thank you, Sui-kun."
Megumi raised her head and forced a smile.
"In any case, my promise still stands."
Sui said firmly.
Sigh. 'I'm such a scumbag,' he thought. 'Just adding another problem to the pile. But I can't just say, 'Alright, thanks.' Who knows what this silly girl would do if I did.'
Although what had happened between them was unplanned, he couldn't just walk away now. That would be unmanly, especially after everything that had happened with Megumi.
"Okay."
Megumi nodded slightly.
After getting dressed, Sui prepared to leave Megumi's room.
Unexpectedly, as soon as he opened the door, he bumped into someone, a soft and fragrant presence.
"Ah!"
The person cried out softly and fell to the ground.
Sui quickly looked down and saw a young woman with long black hair and a gentle, pretty face. It was none other than Megumi's mother, Masako Tadokoro.
"I'm sorry, Auntie."
Sui quickly apologized and helped her up.
"It's nothing."
Masako smiled gently, but despite her calm appearance, her heart was filled with shock.
She had come to ask Megumi to get up and help prepare breakfast, but she hadn't expected to see Sui coming out of her daughter's room. Could it be that he had spent the night there?
"Sui-kun, did you just come out of Megumi's room?"
She asked casually, though her tone carried an underlying tension.
"Uh, I just went in to check on her this morning…"
Sui hastily explained, knowing he couldn't possibly admit that he had actually spent the night in her daughter's room.
"Really? Is Megumi awake?"
Masako smiled, but she wasn't convinced. Sui's clothes were slightly disheveled, as if he had put them on in a hurry.
"Yes, she's awake. Is there something you'd like to talk to her about?"
Sui asked, trying to sound casual.
"No, it's nothing important."
Masako smiled again, but she left with a heavy heart.
"I wonder if she noticed anything," Sui muttered, feeling troubled.
After all, he and Megumi weren't even in a relationship yet. Even if they were, spending the night together in her home before marriage would still be inappropriate.
Meanwhile, Masako entered the kitchen, her mind preoccupied.
In the kitchen, the uncles who were there the previous night were already busy preparing for the lunch service.
Noticing her worried expression, one of the burly uncles couldn't help but ask, "Masako, what's troubling you?"
Masako hesitated for a long time before finally sharing what she had just witnessed.
The people in this rural area were like family. Although these men were employees, Masako considered them part of the Tadokoro household. They had watched Megumi grow up, like elders to her.
"What? That boy Sui spent the night in Megumi's room?!"
Everyone was surprised but soon broke into laughter.
The tall uncle spoke up cheerfully, "That's good news! What are you worried about, Masako?"
"Yeah, Megumi's grown up. Finding a boyfriend is a normal thing."
"I'm sure Megumi will handle her feelings properly. Why worry about it?"
The others chimed in.
"But… they're not married yet. And Megumi is still in school…"
Masako said hesitantly.
