"So, you brought her home because she was shivering from the cold?"
"Yes, that's right."
My words and my grandpa's words perfectly matched.
After this series of events, my childhood friend made my grandpa and I sit on our knees in the living room, and as she looked at us as if we were bugs, we explained what had happened up to that point.
"You know what... I was really surprised when I first saw you."
She sighed and looked at the source of this problem.
"Aside from the fact that she can't understand our language, why don't she even speak her language?"
"I'd love to hear it."
"Well, even if you don't understand, I guess I'll just introduce myself."
As she said this, my childhood friend placed her left hand on her chest, gazed upon the girl with the moon-white hair, and took a deep, shallow breath.
"Good evening! I am Lina, can you tell me your name ?"
she seemed to be listening to what Lina was saying seriously, but she tilted her head to the side, perhaps not understanding what she meant.
"Hmm, I guess it doesn't really get through to her..."
"Right? I've tried talking to her countless times, but it's no use."
The girl herself continued to stare at me and Lina as if she was observing our interaction.
"Cherry, I just had an idea."
While Lina and I were talking, the old man dropped from his position and spoke.
"Lina just happened to come, so could we ask her to help change this girl's clothes?"
That's a great idea. I wouldn't feel inferior if it was just women.
"It's true that we have a lot of problems to deal with... Lina, can I ask you a favor?"
Lina looked back and forth between us and her, seemed to think for a moment, and then replied.
"...I can't have two guys change their clothes, so I guess that can't be helped."
Kina quickly grabs her change of clothes and takes her hand.
"Hey, I don't think you can tell, but come here!"
With a puzzled look on her face, Lina led her by the hand up to the second floor.
The gazes that had made me feel as if I was being watched suddenly stopped, so I let out a sigh and decided to ask my grandpa again about her future.
"Grandpa, um...we don't know whose daughter she is. What should I do after she finishes changing?
"Well, why don't you just take her to the police? I can't just let her stay at home in silence forever."
Agreeing that it was true, I lay down on the sofa and waited, staring at the ceiling, when after a while Lina came down from the second floor.
"Sorry to keep you waiting!"
Behind Lina was the girl wearing the white dress that her grandpa had brought earlier. Her flawless appearance and the beautiful white dress made her captivating.
"Oh! This looks good on you!"
"Right? So cute!"
While Grandpa and Lina were having a great time, I got up from the sofa, stretched my body, and started getting ready to go outside again.
"Well, now that we've changed, let's go to the police."
"Okay. I guess I'll go home too."
"Thank you for your help, Lina. I'll definitely thank you next time."
"Oh! I'll never forget those words."
Then, before leaving for the house, Lina looks at her with her moon-white hair and smiles.
"Well then, take care!"
Lina said goodbye to her, who looked confused, and went home. Soon after, we also had to hand her over to the police, so we somehow managed to get her to put on the sandals we had planned to throw away, then we got in the car and headed to the police station.
--A few hours later, we returned from the police box and, as usual, said "I'm home" and took off our shoes at the entrance.
After neatly arranging my shoes, I sighed and said,
"Uh... come on. I'll help you take off your sandals."
A third pair of shoes is lined up in the entrance of this house, which normally only has two residents.
--When I got home, the one following me was the white-haired girl, holding a white flower and still silent.
Yes, I still remember it.
May 8th, from this day onwards, you and I started living together under the same roof.
