"Slap!"
Half an hour later, after a passionate encounter, as the heat of the moment subsided, a crisp slap suddenly echoed within the cave.
As the slap resounded, the heavy breathing gradually faded, and a set of staggered footsteps ran out of the cave.
Only when the footsteps disappeared did Yun Yun, lying on the stone bed, flutter her trembling eyelashes and slowly open her eyes. Looking at the disheveled state of her body and the lingering mixed scents around her, tears began to fall uncontrollably from her beautiful eyes.
Given her esteemed status, few dared to even gaze upon her directly, let alone touch her inappropriately. Yet now, in this small cave, her body—preserved for so many years—had been taken by a much younger boy in such an inexplicable manner. Yun Yun felt an overwhelming sense of despair.
Having lost her Dou Qi, Yun Yun appeared less aloof and more vulnerable than usual, her typical aura of authority seemingly sealed deep within her consciousness for the moment.
In the past, Yun Yun would not have hesitated to draw her sword and chop Mo Yu into eighteen pieces. Naturally, if her Dou Qi hadn't been sealed, the effects of the serpent venom wouldn't have been enough to blur her senses at all.
Lying on the stone bed, Yun Yun bit her lip, her face shifting between light and shadow as her thoughts wandered.
Outside the cave, Mo Yu ran wildly toward a nearby waterfall, feeling as though his body was still on fire. Though the majority of the flame within him had been released, a small remnant still burned inside, making him feel as if he were burning alive. The traces of intimacy and lingering scent on his body only made him crave a cold bath even more.
"Plop!"
Seeing the lake before him, Mo Yu jumped straight into it like a carp, sinking to the bottom and letting the icy water cool his overheated body.
Taking a few gulps of the lake water, Mo Yu crossed his legs at the bottom of the lake and began to circulate his Dou Qi to expel the remaining heat within him.
With the combined effects of the cold water and his gradually recovering Dou Qi, the heat in Mo Yu's body slowly receded, and the restless fire within him subsided.
"Plop." The previously calm surface of the lake broke as a head emerged. Mo Yu wiped the water from his face, looking up at the blazing sun. He let out a breath and slowly swam to shore, leaning against a rock and gasping for breath.
Narrowing his eyes at the sky, Mo Yu couldn't help but recall Yun Yun's dignified, beautiful face. Earlier, in the cave, the woman who had been as noble as a goddess had shown him the most alluring, tantalizing side of her.
With a bitter smile, Mo Yu shook his head. Although the experience had been pleasurable, the reality was a headache.
This was a mess. He had intended to collaborate with Yun Yun, but somehow he had ended up taking her body instead.
He remembered that in the original story, Xiao Yan had experienced something similar but had managed to stop in time, allowing both sides to maintain a way out. Mo Yu, however, had plunged headfirst into disaster, unexpectedly taking Yun Yun's most precious thing.
Using his Thunder Soul technique to dry his body, Mo Yu's thoughts turned to Yun Yun's appearance, his brows furrowing in deep contemplation. He wondered if he should make a run for it.
Though it seemed irresponsible, Yun Yun was, after all, a Dou Huang. If she recovered her strength and flew into a rage, she might kill him with a single strike. At that point, even if he was in the right, it would be too late to argue.
After a moment of thought, Mo Yu squinted his eyes and finally decided to return to the cave.
A gentleman has things he should do and things he should not do. Since he had already done it, Mo Yu wasn't one to shirk responsibility. In his past life, as a supreme being, he had his own pride.
Besides, it wasn't just any woman; even if she were a Dou Zun, Mo Yu wouldn't bat an eye.
As he neared the cave, Mo Yu exhaled lightly and stepped into the cool interior, his gaze sweeping toward the stone platform, only to freeze. Yun Yun, who had been lying there, was gone.
He quickened his pace, just about to release his soul force to search for her, when a cold sensation suddenly pressed against his neck—a strange long sword, radiating a chilling aura, was now tightly pressed to his throat.
Mo Yu's body went rigid, his eyes glancing back. There stood Yun Yun in her green robe, holding the sword with a frosty expression on her face.
Feeling the cold metal on his throat, Mo Yu's face remained calm as he lifted his gaze to meet hers and slowly said, "Things have come to this point. I didn't come here to apologize. I came to tell you something."
Yun Yun's icy face flushed with a mix of anger and embarrassment at his words. How could he have no remorse after taking away a woman's most precious thing?
Her beautiful eyes flickered with emotion, and the long sword in her hand pressed more firmly against Mo Yu's neck, drawing a faint line of blood.
As her gaze shifted, Yun Yun noticed the distinct red palm print on Mo Yu's face, the source of the loud slap from earlier in the cave.
Seeing the ridiculous slap mark, Yun Yun's frosty expression softened a bit, but she still coldly asked, "What do you want to say?"
"I want to say, Yun Zhi, be my woman," Mo Yu said calmly, but his voice carried a resolute and undeniable tone.
Faced with this sudden declaration, Yun Yun's icy demeanor faltered, her beautiful eyes flashing with confusion, as if it were Mo Yu holding the sword at her throat, and not the other way around.
Looking into the boy's unwavering black eyes and sensing his deep aura, Yun Yun suddenly felt more pressure than she ever had from her master, her mindset subtly shifting as she unconsciously became the weaker party.
"Let's just pretend today never happened," Yun Yun finally said in a defeated tone, lowering the sword in her hand.
Having already shared such an intimate moment, Yun Yun decided to be forthright. "My real identity is Yun Yun, the Sect Master of the Yun Lan Sect and the master of Nalan Yanran, who broke off her engagement with Xiao Yan. There are both personal grievances and significant differences between us. I can't be your woman."
A Dou Huang was an insurmountable barrier. Although Mo Yu might one day cross it, at least for now, that wasn't possible. And for the proud and noble Yun Yun, it was unimaginable that a mere Dou Zhe could ever reach her level, no matter how talented or mysterious he might be.
"Five years. In five years, I'll break through to Dou Huang," Mo Yu said confidently, looking straight at Yun Yun.
He understood the vast gap between their statuses and strengths, but having been reborn, time was all he needed. If given five years, Mo Yu was certain he could become a Dou Huang!
A Dou Huang in his early twenties—this thought made Yun Yun's brows furrow slightly. Five years to go from a Dou Zhe to a Dou Huang was unheard of.
However, looking at the boy's confident expression and recalling their time together in the cave, Yun Yun's heart grew more conflicted. Finally, biting her lip, she responded.
"Fine. I'll give you a chance. In five years, I'll wait for you to come find me as a Dou Huang."
