"Death Fiend Spear!"
As the terrifying energy spear condensed around Mo Yin's body, an overwhelming force bore down on Mo Yu, like an unstoppable storm crushing everything in its path.
Facing this mighty attack, Mo Yu appeared as a lone boat in a vast ocean, seemingly ready to be swallowed at any moment.
From above, Mo Yin grinned viciously at Mo Yu. Although he couldn't understand why the boy's soul power and control were so strong, he believed that his advanced Xuan-class dou technique would obliterate any resistance. Mo Yu's soul power would disperse like smoke under this assault, and the boy himself would fall beneath the spear.
Watching the ever-growing black spear, Mo Yu caught a glimpse of the confident sneer on Mo Yin's face, clearly certain of his victory. However, the boy's expression revealed only a hint of disdain.
'Dou techniques can channel dou qi, but does that mean soul power can't have its own techniques? I happen to know one!' With this thought, Mo Yu extended his hands, swiftly forming a complex seal. As the seal took shape, a torrent of vast and majestic soul power condensed in his palms. In the swirling energy, a faint spiral imprint emerged in the void.
The Soul Imprint harnessed Mo Yu's soul power, condensing it into an attack form. While the soul power gathered in the imprint wasn't significantly stronger than before, its destructive force far surpassed his previous abilities. Like dou techniques, soul skills amplified soul power, and the quality of the technique determined its potency.
Mo Yu was aware that ancient alchemists in the Dou Qi Continent could wield soul power to its fullest potential, rivaling even the strongest dou techniques. They called these methods "soul skills." Though such skills had mostly disappeared, some alchemists still retained fragments of these lost techniques.
While Mo Yu hailed from a different continent, the manipulation of soul power mirrored that of the Dou Qi Continent's soul skills. According to their ranking system, the "Spiral Soul Imprint" technique Mo Yu employed was equivalent to a mid-level Xuan-class soul skill.
Just as dou qi fighters without dou techniques were at a disadvantage, so too were soul cultivators without soul skills. Thus, as soon as Mo Yin deployed his dou technique, Mo Yu promptly followed suit with his soul skill.
"Spiral Soul Imprint!"
With a loud shout, the vast soul power in Mo Yu's hands solidified into a spiraling soul imprint. In an instant, it shot toward the ominous Death Spear!
Though the Spiral Soul Imprint was invisible, its immense pressure was palpable, suffocating those who felt it.
Seeing this strange move from Mo Yu, Mo Yin's face contorted in shock. A technique using soul power akin to a dou skill? He had never witnessed anything like it. Even the renowned first alchemist of the Jia Ma Empire, Gu He, lacked such ability.
Realizing the boy's increasingly terrifying abilities, a surge of killing intent filled Mo Yin's heart. If he didn't end Mo Yu now, the boy might become an obsession, a demon in his heart!
With a sinister grin, Mo Yin channeled his dou qi into the Death Spear, aiming to obliterate the Spiral Soul Imprint in a direct clash.
"Boom!"
The Spiral Soul Imprint and the Death Fiend Spear collided with explosive force. Invisible shockwaves burst forth from the point of impact, sending gusts across the battlefield. The ground beneath them rippled, a wave of energy rolling through, toppling countless trees and sending debris flying.
The force of the collision sent Mo Yu stumbling back dozens of steps. He slammed his spear into the ground to steady himself, carving a deep trench in the dirt before finally coming to a halt.
"Pfft!"
Despite steadying himself, Mo Yu felt a surge of pain in his chest, followed by a mouthful of blood spraying out, staining the ground beneath him.
Wiping the blood from his lips, Mo Yu's expression darkened. His soul power, while formidable, was still only on par with an average Da Dou Shi. Mo Yin, on the other hand, was not only a Four-Star Da Dou Shi but also wielded an eerie dark-element dou qi and formidable techniques. His strength rivaled that of a Five- or Six-Star Da Dou Shi, and perhaps even Xiao Zhan, the head of the Xiao Clan, might struggle against him.
The Spiral Soul Imprint was Mo Yu's most potent attack at the moment. If the battle continued, his only remaining option would be to burn his soul power to ensure his escape.
Despite the severe consequences of burning soul power, Mo Yu knew survival was paramount.
Just as Mo Yu was preparing for this dire move, a chilling intent swept over him. From the shadows beneath him, a figure emerged, wielding a black dagger aimed directly at his head.
"Mo Yu, die!"
The attacker was none other than Mo Yin. His armor, once pristine, was now tattered, and his black robe hung in shreds. His gaunt, bloodied face twisted into a snarl.
Evidently, Mo Yin had suffered significant injuries in the clash between their techniques.
As Mo Yin's dagger closed in, it pierced "Mo Yu's" head. However, to his shock, Mo Yu's figure began to dissolve, dissipating like a shadow in the wind.
"A...shadow clone?"
Mo Yin, an experienced warrior, instantly recognized the trick. His bloodied face contorted with rage, an aura of pure malice emanating from him.
"That was close!"
In a corner of the battlefield, the real Mo Yu exhaled in relief. Just before Mo Yin's strike, a sudden sense of impending doom had prompted him to use his Shadow Flash to replace his real body with a shadow clone, narrowly avoiding the lethal attack.
"This guy's assassination techniques are terrifying," Mo Yu thought.
"You wretched brat! You won't escape me!" Mo Yin's eyes gleamed with malice, his voice dripping with venom. After having his assassination attempt thwarted multiple times, his desire to kill the boy grew even more intense.
Hearing Mo Yin's words, Mo Yu's face darkened. Mo Yin's unpredictable assassination methods were too dangerous to fend off indefinitely. Unless he could seriously wound or kill him, escaping would be nearly impossible.
Just as Mo Yu was about to burn his soul power for a last-ditch effort, he noticed the familiar black dagger in Mo Yin's hand. His eyes lit up, and a sly smile crept across his face.
